That stang needs a little bit more beef on those back wheels.... I know it doesnt have the power to roast off that much rubber.

Re: Other Hobbies,besides trucks?

although i haven't put much time toward it recently, slot cars is a hobby of mine. I race 1/24 scale cars at a local track and have a 4 lane HO track in my basement. Once we get out of this duplex and into a house again (by may), i plan to do a lot of detail work to the HO track.

I am also a web developer by day, and that carries over into my free time a lot. One of my more recent sites that I created for myself is a golf tournament management web site, http://www.MyGTMS.com .

My main hobby is my family though. All of my kids are in various sports, and i try to get to as many games as possible. Both of my sons are into slot car racing as well.

below is a pic of the HO track in my basement, and the other two are the cars that raced a 7 hour enduro race last year at a couple of tracks here in iowa. the pic of the cars on the table are AFTER the race bodies were a bit rough after 7 hours of slammin' into the wall.

Are you serious? I am not going to list my stats(wrong forum) But that is a low 12 second car and as soon as I get my truck crusable in DP90. I am going to attempt to stuff a turbo under the hood.Oh and that is not a 4.6L its The 5.0L The only problem I have now is I need to pass Emissions and I have full exhaust (no cats).

The one in the dash goes back down to zero and the extra one shows the revs that the engine had when it ate one or more of the pistons.

Re: Other Hobbies,besides trucks?

I haven't gone through all of the posts, but my other hobby is building scale models. I do build a plane or two every now and then, but mostly cars and trucks. I'm a big fan of 60's and 70's gassers. I also hunt & fish, which segways into gun and knife collecting.

Here are a couple of current projects, 1963 Rambler American and a 64 Chevy Stepside (both gasser style)

Re: Other Hobbies,besides trucks?

I just went through this whole thread and I think we are all related somewhere down the line. We all like the same stuff!! My other hobbies include Motorcycles, my jeep, I have three different ar-15's, and of course my favorite my trucks. I have several rc planes, fabbing anything out of metal, and I paint and draw. Anyway, enjoy.

Re: Other Hobbies,besides trucks?

While I only get to go a few times per year, I have a great time when they are running at Maxton NC, attempting to set Land Speed Records. A co-worker runs his 67 Camaro (picture was in the August issue of Hot Rod magazine) and his ZX-14. He currently holds the motorcycle Land Speed Record for bikes under 1650cc’s, naked (no fairings), normally aspirated at 202.8 MPH. He set that record at Loring Maine back in July.

We were at Maxon last weekend, and the results were disappointing, 179 and 180 MPH runs. Attached is a picture of his bike, with a small nitrous bottle attached.
