Re: My 69 lonbed
I know I'm slacking on mine between work and family not much time...plus, I'm waiting for parts to arrive....I still have about a billion things I could be working on but it's hard to get over there w/ the hours I put in and still see my girls so the truck is the one that suffers

Re: My 69 lonbed
well the brakets are either 3/16" or 1/4". you'd have to have a fairly decent plasma to get them off. the cut off wheel would take forever and you'd constantly have to change the wheel. i used oxygen acetylene torch with a scarfing tip. it worked well and with little clean up. for the clean up i used a 4 1/2" grinder with a sand paper wheel. it was all very little effort for a very good turn out. hope it helps

Re: My 69 lonbed
OK starting to get back on track... here are some updates.
i started fixing the small dents in my front fenders, the decided to work on shaving my marker lights. i cut out the marker light attatchment point. I made a panel with a step in it using this cool stepping tool that goes in a air hammer. the panel goes in from the back side of the fender. i tacked it in place and then used silver solder brazing rod and sealed the panel to the fender. now its sealed, as with welding a pinhole could mean rust down the line. check em out

Re: My 69 lonbed
the only down side to brazing is the heat, BUT... i already straightened the area. it came right back with minimal effort. it took 3 rods of silver solder to do this marker. i learned as i went... the three rods were 27 bucks! need to get more, they come in packs of 3. STAY TUNED!!
