Re: my 98' Streetrod build

I think whitewalls would be the ticket for the look he mentioned.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

Didn't think diameters....22's are out of my league. 20's? Maybe, but I'm really running Old Skool here and thinking smaller diameter. But, they wouldn't "look" like you want the overall theme to appear.

That thing is looking good!! I might have missed it but what kind of valve blocks are those?
And the paint color your thinking about with silver pinstripe would be very cool!!

you guys are nuts. whitewalls do not fit the theme, let alone the year of the vehicle, what so ever.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

What about modifying some rear inner fenders in some way from the same body style of bed?

I have an idea for a fabricated look inner made out of 3/4 square tube w/aluminum sheet over it. Its hard to explain but Im cuttin my losses and ditchin the trailer fender idea.

Considered it but Im not much for the factory look. The front inner fender area is stuffed so full of tire/wheel I need a hand built piece to accomodate as well as compliment that area.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

to bad you are this far into the body mods. you could have shaved the upper body line. i did it on my 90 i built. you truck is going to be killer!! did you think of maybe doing a dash out of a 59 impalla or something? it is a popular thing with hot rodders. keep up the good work hope she drives as good as it looks!!

Actually, the edge will be a seperate piece and have some decorative holes drilled into it.Think about it like a piece of cabinet trim on a bare plywood edge.

Thanks for the compliments. I do,however, feel shaving the upper or lower lines destroys the symmetry of the body shape.Makes it look like an import.
As for the dash,,,I wanted a one off style....I think I nailed it.

Thats a pretty truck you have there.

Troy, your work and your ideas are spot-on. I hope that the suggestions that we make aren't taken as criticism of your endeavours. You certainly have the upper hand. Truck looks killer!

Trucks coming along nicely Troy. Glad to see you have an idea figured out for the inner fenders. Can't wait to see them finished.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

Maybe your could just weld some flanges on the inside of the fender and bolt the inner fenders in. I'm picturing a nice stainless button head if it would be visable - wouldn't hurt your theme either.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

Thanks Fellers,
Im having the bed blasted and massaged.I hired it out since its too much work for me and the space I have. Its going slow and getting expensive but I trust the shop performing the mods"Renown Auto Restorations"and I know they'll do a great job on it.
After the bed gets to a blocking stage,I'll start buttoning up some of the little stuff and prepare to wire the entire vehicle. That,Im not looking forward to.
Im still on it,just been occupied w/other stuff while the bed is in the shop. Thanks for your interest.

Troy.
