Seriously?....You and everyone else know better than to use language like that. Typing spaces to trick the software is not cool at all.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

ha no. only way to get some words on here. The set up is clean. What if you were to run a steel braided line for the steam line, or make one out of hard line and get it chromed or a polished stainless one. just some ideas.

That Summit fitting looks to be exactly what you need. I may be way off, but I think the 5/16" is the I.D.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

Yepper! And after a phone call, the 5/16" inverted flair part is if you are going to use a flaired steel line rather than going to a screw on line like you plan on using. Brake lines have inverted flair fittings on them. Now we both know

And, yes, AN fittings are quite expensive!

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

BTW.... you will probably want to use these instead (the gold one on the right):

http://www.purechoicemotorsports.com...rod/prd255.htm

I found this on LS1tech.com when I was planning mine and bookmarked it:

Quote:
If yours is 1997-up, you won't be able to use the AN fitting for the rear cooler unless you can find someone who installs the lube extension in the fitting. This fitting intersects through a seal in the center support for the lube circuit.
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/automa...ngs-seals.html

Sounds like if you remove the OEM rear fitting and just replace it with a 1/4 pipe fitting, it might not get the fluid to the circuit correctly. That would be bad! I would at least call someone like TCI or a reputable local shop to verify this.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

From what I've found no-one makes the fitting with the extension in the rear fitting. I am just going to use the factory quick connect lines and cut them off about 6 inches from where they go in the trans. Then break out my handy flaring tool and flare the lines and use high psi. rubber hose to run the lines to the cooler.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

The ones I posted lets you use -6 AN fittings/hose with the OEM fittings. I totally forgot about them until I saw this thread and Dennis's other thread asking about fittings. I wish I had remembered them now, it would have made things easier without that extra step to remove the hard lines and flare them.
