leddzepp, I didn't know you had a K20. You need to keep me better informed.

This thread is interesting and the proof is in the longevity. It is 10 years old and still drawing attention.

Just bought the truck about 6 weeks ago, took off the full wheel covers. Gotta clean up and repaint the wheels.

Still mid build but here are my 15 X 8 rally's. Thinking of going to 15 X 10 with 4" BS in the rear because I want something a little wider and want the wheel/tire to come a little further in the wheel well. They just look too recessed to me. Anyone have any thoughts on that. Also I am running a 4 / 6 drop with drop spindles and springs in the front drop springs, C notch and flip kit in the rear

Having trouble posting pics...

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

C/10 King,

Are you finding stock steel rims and repainting or using aftermarket (Wheel Vintique) rims?

Also love the whitewalls. What brand and size please.

Seems like I read on the board that 90% of stock rims are 7" and very hard to find 8".

You have both dog dish caps and full size. Is there an aftermarket rim that works for both types?

Thanks for the help.

Post Stock Wheels

Stock Wheels are still out there, you just have to beat the bushes for them .

Utah has a lot of Desert so look in older junkyards, never waste time asking, you have to go do the dirty nasty work of searching through the HUGE piles of greasy, dirty, heavy, black widow infested old wheels & tires .

All are stock steelies, I recommend Coker tires, as I tried others, and 225/75/15 is the size I usually use.

Pete, what brand spring did you use, and are they stock arch? Do you have any other lift on the truck?

Thanks,

Hi Larry - love your pic btw, too cool. Springs came from Alcan Spring in Colorado. Zero lift stock height built to order w USA steel. No body lift. The 33" tires bump it up a bit. I'm happy with the stance as I can scramble in/out pretty easily.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Obviously I like the stance on your truck too (along with everything else about it).

You may not remember, but, this is the truck I was going to get when I contacted you in Albuquerque. My plans changed in California and it was early morning when I came back through so I didn't bother you. Anyway, I have it apart now and I may as well put in new springs. It looks like it sits a little low in the front.

I changed it up a bit, stock 15x6 with 215/75/15 tires up front, 15x8 wheel vintiques series 62 rears with 235/75/15 tires.

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Ok so I was originally going to go with a spoke type wheel but I have this vision in my head of all the modern braking upgrades (dual piston calipers up front and 13" drums in the rear) but the old school look. That being said it's a C/20 frame and I'm looking for steelies. The 16" rims I have are split rims that I don't want to keep as not only are they dangerous but they're hitting the calipers up front and 16.5" rims are available but tire prices are way to high for me to even think about. So my question for all you steel wheels guru's is, is there anywhere I can get either a 17x8 wheel with 4 inches of back spacing or a 17x9 with 4.5" of backspacing that's drilled for an 8x6.5 lug pattern? I don't want to go with an 18" as I think that'd be too big for the truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Do these count original 17 inch split ring

Stephen717 why do you say splits are dangerous? anything if handled improperly can be dangerous. Millions of miles have and still are traveled on split rims

I say it because mine are completely rusted and I'm Leary about doing anything with them. I don't mind them personally but I don't trust these ones. Plus the fact that they hit the calipers so I'm looking for bigger rims. Also what size tires are those on your gorgeous stepside

Ya hitting the caliper is concerning. The tires are 7.50-17 load range d
