No shame in that Dan. You've earned the internet pix you post with the hard work you've done so far. Nice truck. Nice job.

55 TF 3200-Those on Intro billet wheels-"twisted blade exposed " series 6 .18 inch rims with p-zero low profiles. I do not have the actual color code as I found it already painted. It is very close to the color that was available back then. It is closer go teal

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

53chevyforever, what wheels are those? I have a matte black truck that I'm thinking about going with a charcoal or black center wheel, but since I don't have much chrome (black bumpers, etc) I definitely want some flash. Thanks

Well, on the chassis itself I used 2 coats of epoxy primer and 2 coats of chassis black. All from autozone. Don't have the part numbers sorry. Money got tight so I am doing the suspension with rustolem products (rusty metal primer and Rustoleum Professional Black) using a HVLP gun from Harbor Fail.

The prep took me several days, but I was too cheap to have it sandblasted. Took it down to bare metal with knotted wire cups on a 4 inch grinder. Kept soaking it down with WD40 just to see if it would help break up the surface rust. It seemed to help quite a bit (wear coveralls, it gets you really messy) plus kept the dust down. The only place I couldn't get to with the knotted wire cups was around the rear cross member on the inside of the frame. I used some rust converter there, not sure of the brand.

It shined up nice but it took me a total of about 20 hours. I bathed it in laquer thinner before priming.

I'm sure sandblasting would have netted me better longer lasting results but I’m working with a tight budget.

looks good to me. These days aren't we all on a tight budget. Oh well just one more obstacle to overcome.
