Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Polished some chrome and did a compression test on the engine. All came out at 149 almost exactly. But I am still blowing a little smoke out the passenger side pipe when I romp on it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I removed my saginaw 4 speed and tried in install a T5. I ran into a small problem with the clutch disk, I had bought an 11 and actually need a 10 inch clutch disk. I will start over next Saturday!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

did a little more work on the replacement dash, wire wheeled the paint off, and cut out the radio hole. i offset the hole to the right because i am going to add a push button starter on the left side of it. i also might add a few other things as well but not sure yet, and i would have to figure out what exactly that would be first lol.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

not much of an update as of yet, but, just some messing around. took a pic of the current engine setup as i dont have a pic of that in here. i also pulled the springs out of the front to see how low it is. still need to finish the lower arms, and install bags and spindles, but i only have 3/4" before the arms hit the grond

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Replaced inner and outer tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints, and cut one coil out of the front springs. Tried my wipers and found that I had installed the linkage backwards. Had to take the cowl off and swap the pivot arm. Buttoned her back up and parked her in the garage. I had replaced my rear springs with Jeep TJ springs awhile back. I finally got around to measuring the drop and come to find out one side is 1.75 inches higher than the other. I guess I will fork out the 100 bucks for real drop springs. I should have known better but it sounded like a great deal(the TJ springs).

No, not that I can tell. I really don't know how it didn't mess something up. It does have 4 inches of snow on it so who knows.

Pulled engine/trans (mock-up) Prepped for powder coating. Cut 4" exhaust holes in frame. Sandblasted A-arms.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Thanks, Scrubed them down with Dawn (in the bathtub), sanded with 400, scuffed with scotch brite, scrubbed again, cleaned with SEM 38353 plastic and leather prep, sprayed with SEM 39863 plastic adhesion promoter, applied SEM color coat (Santa Fe & Brite White). 4 coats of color.
Will put on 2 coats of Low Luster Clear when it comes in tomorrow. Also going to paint the groove around the scroll body color (not giving away all my secrets!). Did the console to match.
VERY IMPORTANT: READ ALL THE SEM DIRECTIONS!
Reno
P.S. If you are married don't try this in YOUR bathroom.

Put some red LEDs in the dash... I had already pulled it all apart and painted the inside a bright gloss white... they look good...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

So far today, here's what I have done to my truck
•Drove it to work (in the rain)
•Hit the lock button on my remote, the actuator broke inside the door panel
•Set off the alarm in my work parking lot at lunch trying to get back into my truck with a broken lock actuator
•Got home for lunch and took drivers side door panel off to remove actuator
•Remove actuator, go to put door panel back on, and one of the nuts that holds the armrest screw falls of into the door. Get that screw put back in, and start with door panel again.
•One of the nuts that holds on the door panel falls out into the door. Get it back in and go to put on door panel again. Repeat this three times.
•Get everything back on, and threaten to kick door in. Not really, but I was frustrated.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I really didn't do much of anything to my truck. One of my wippers was squeaking so I took the cowl off to squirt it with some lube. I swapped out one of my side mirrors legs (I have tripod mirror mounts and was deciding if I liked the long or short legs. I went with the short), I squirted some white lithium on my pass. side window tracks 'cause it was getting a little tough to roll up and down, I decided to put the original glove box door back in, and last thing I did was detail the inside a little (clean it up a little really). So ya not much to really speak of.

I've been disassembling the Blazer for the past couple of weeks to get it ready for body and paint in mid February. I have a ways to go yet.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

took the heads, tpi plenum-runners-base, and the intake off of the old engine in to be cleaned and checked. heads are getting a full overhaul with new guides and found that my tpi base is cracked so now i gotta source out a new one. but i did order a set of tubular engine frame mounts off ebay since i let the old engine mount pads go with the old engine. these are the ones that i got.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

at least i have a couple of passenger saddle style engine mounts sitting in my garage somewhere. besides i've been wanting to get some of these anyway

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I bought 100 sq. ft. of Fat Mat for my truck. Hope to stick that on this Saturday. Yesterday I bolted the doors and fenders back on. I'm slowly getting it back into 1 piece.
