Seeing this, I had to procrastinate a little more and give you a flashback to when I was your age... hope it makes you laugh! Here are some things me and my friend would do to get our trucks on the road when we were in HS, and yes, we drove them to school this way!

battery tray firewood and bailing wire
drivleine stole off dads truck, made dad mad
radiator hoses tire patches and hose clamps
tranny coolant lines fuel hose
a couple brake lines and adapters cut and pinched lines
spark plug wires any wire we could find, including power cords
power steering pump and brackets tough-man manual steering
alt. and brackets just ran off battery
light harness back roads, no lights... dont ask
gas lines gravity fed off a motorcycle gas tank strapped to the hood
sending unit a stick, shake the truck, rag in the hole... the list goes on for this one
gas oh the incrimination
battery anything we could find for 5 bucks or less, sometimes we would carpool cuz we only had one good battery
and thats all i can think of right now I grew up in Cali, and my idea of a newspaper was the Recycler, But now there is Craigslist!

For real! Yeah, id just the the GOTTA HAVE stuff. (Brakelines, battery, fuel lines, coolant lines etc). You can live with a rusty battery tray (I can!). Replace that when you get the chance (Easy afternoon project)/

Re: slik ricks 67 short wide CST

Not trying to be a butt..

I spent alot of time on my frame (cab back). Sandblasted bedlinered etc, it looked great at first. But after a few thousand miles it got nasty. Dont sweat it man. If you were building a $40000 show truck it'd be somethign else.

Any updates from today? How were those brakelines going?

Re: slik ricks 67 short wide CST

Yeah, get those brakes finished and bled (save a headache, do all wheel cyclinders/master cyclinder/soft lines) and bleed everything and do it 1 time. Trust me. And get the puppy on the ROAD

Re: slik ricks 67 short wide CST

yes i need to get new brake shoes for the rear drums. they are really good but have a crack in the one on one side the owner who had my frame (before my uncle) really kept up on matenance the brakes are all new the chocks are new the ball joints tie rods are new we replaced the ball joints because we sandblasted the frame. the only reason they look messed up is because this frame was in san fransisco (really salty= rust fast) so they got worn out by the salt there
