Even if it was a repeat, it is a good one to repeat!

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I think I took that because the truck was all washed up, no equipment on the rack, and freshly graded lot. I think I was back to do a small finishing detail. But also, I will never forget that house. The picture doesn't show it well, but the siding color was champagne. A pinkish pale lavender-like color. The only house I ever saw use that color. And this was the last house built in the subdivision. I always wondered how the other homeowners, all settled in to their nice new homes, felt about that. It was a yuck color, especially in a development.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I purchased this 1990 gmc k2500 from the original family. It was a little rough but with some TLC she turned out looking pretty nice. Purchased the truck with a blown engine so dropped in a new gm crate motor. I absolutely love this truck

Thankyou. It surprising how common the 6 lug 2500s are. Glad I was able to find a real 3/4 ton as it’s a pretty hard working pick up

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

My 1992 3500. I bought it in 2002 when starting a grading company, and it already had over 200,000 miles on it. It was a work truck for a crane company. Now it's got almost 427,000 miles on it but still kicking. It's got a high idle issue and stumbles sometimes, but I'm reading some of the other threads here trying to figure it out. 5.7L engine btw.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

A good truck right there. I have a special place in my heart for '92s, year five of the GMT400. Improved from '88 and simpler than '98. I like the interiors up to '94 better than newer and better than some point prior to '92. Not sure when, but I notice differences in the earliest trucks. "92 was the year GMT400s became a full line of trucks, with the C3500HD being added on. A great year in GM Trucks.

Pre-95 dashes def seem to hold-up better but the gauges were lacking. I wouldn't mind retrofitting one of them w/the current aftermarket gauge upgrade options (Dakota Digital or NVU) to correct my '98's current crumbling mess of plastic. As I understand it from my research, I need to source stuff from a '94 to get things to play nicely which makes it more of a PITA. Not sure it would be worth the effort.

The only pre-95 dashes that hold up okay around here are the red ones.

Easy enough to change the color. My old '90 had that Dark Red/Burgandy (Carmine). It's still in tip-top shape just slightly faded.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

The light beige dash in my '92 held up great. I had no complaints about the gauges or the heat and stereo controls. For me those were the coolest ever. Everything worked as designed to the end. Never once went inside the dash.

I always favored the '92s for reasons stated, and because that was the year I knew so well. But standing back and looking all the years over, the ultimate driver for me would be a '94 with vortec heads and export van TBI intake. I like the exterior changes, especially GMC grille, and the old interior. If I did have a really nice keeper I'd like an LS swap

Here is one I wish I could have bought. Cummins swap!

Here's my '95 K2500 Suburban at my favorite spot. It's a high knob. You drive right up, short flat spot, and right back down. 360* view with a 20 mile view to the west. I'll watch sunsets, storms, or just check out the view
