Looking nice. Have you already put the zero rates on the front axle yet?

Not sure what "Zero Rates" are but if you are talking abut the axle relocation kit...yes. it all the difference in the world and within about 1/2" of where i would like it to be. I can live with that.

Re: 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne K30 Extended Cab Dually REBUILD thread.

Gauge cluster wiring begun and rear bumper was fabricated on. 2 more bolts and that project will be done then on to the hitch. The seat was reinstalled with the center jumper seat removed to make room for the console. An upholstery job and the seat with closely resemble Blazer seats! We also started the next project...63 GMC short fleet. the 5 lug disc brake conversion happened in about 30 minutes thanks to the donor square body.

I've read thru the post several times. LOVE the dedication and the skills. I think I remember the question being asked but not an answer. Any plans to rework the extended cab window? It's the only thing that doesn't fit.

Thank you!. Yes, we have and are still researching options for rear windows. The needed bed steps and mirror perche updates have been resolved.

Because of the lack of any contour in that section of the cab, the rear window desired look is proving to be difficult. I really wanted to go with a pop out early to mid 2000's extended cab rear widow style sectioning the entire frame and all but its too concave. I really need something about 25" tall and 28" long that is flat. I simple piece of cut glass would work and be the easy way out but I really want it to open.

i am open to all suggestions!!

I was thinking the next body style up (2007 and newer) extended cab. They roll down and have a nice rear upper curve. I didn't realize the cab was flat so that probably won't work. I agree that pop out windows would be nice. My fab skills are much more suited to mechanical things so I'm really only good for bad ideas. I'm sure whatever you end up with will be outstanding.

I'm in NC about 8 hrs from you. I'd love to see the truck in person sometime. I use to go to the GM training center in Alpharetta when I was at the dealership. I told my wife I wanted to vacation in Atlanta next year so I could go to the Summit racing store. Haha. Now there's another reason.

Sorry to ramble on your build post. I'm glad you saved the truck and keep up the great work.

Re: 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne K30 Extended Cab Dually REBUILD thread.

Finished up hanging and fine tuning the front and rear bumpers this weekend. I still need to make the drivers side front bracket as the steering box is in the way. Wss able to use the big girl to drag back my suburban after it let me know the HEI will NOT work on a dead battery.

Re: 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne K30 Extended Cab Dually REBUILD thread.

Hot damm that is cool! Wheel spacing looks correct for the year. As far as the windows go I think a early 70's dodge club cab might be a good donor as they are pop outs and if i remember correctly they are flat and you could alter the size some what and have some tempered glass cut to order. Ideally I would probably change the doors to Suburban doors and then put a more rectangular/ trapezoidal window in. Something along the lines of the small fixed window in the 3rd door on a Suburban.
I raise my Barley Pop high and salute you for saving that truck.
