Re: 68 Burb - Project - GoldMember

Been too long since I have posted any updates, I have the typical excuses with one addition.
It was announced in November that the company I work for is being purchased.. Needless to say it has been a roller coaster ride ever since that announcement. As I am a middle mgmt. guy, preparing for “integration” has consumed my every waking moment for months!

I get the feeling this is what it’s like to enter the BORG Collective!

Anyway, some things have been happening in spite of the long hours, and as with every one of my projects that seem to drag on forever, this one is no different. Baby steps right...

So here is the latest in Big changes..

Drive-train update!

1. My son got his hands on an LM4 (all aluminum 5.3 from a Trailblazer) and presented it to me for my birthday..
2. I then picked up a 4L80e to back it up from a 2009 Express van

I've since collected all the parts for rebuild / upgrade at got started on the engine

* Rings, bearing, gaskets
* Modded factory DBW harness & ECU (I’ll setup with HP Tuners)
* TSP Stage 3 Low Lift Cam: 216/220, .550"/.550"
* LS6 Valve Springs
* Brian Tooley pushrods (new but from another build)
* Trunion upgrade
* Muscle Car Oil Pan

Here is how she looked when he picked her up

and just some of the parts getting cleaned and sorted

Progress to continue of course, but I also have to get ready for the April Swat meet as I will be taking a crap ton of stuff to sell including my 67 K10 SWB. All of that is currently tucked away in storage.

So are you going to drop the engine you built for it in one of your other projects?

Yeah, not even sure what, I've been wanting to go LS for some time but things never fell into place. As I have thinned the herd this past year, minus one more to go I am down to the Burb and my SWB. (which needs to get started on all over again)!!

I actually have a few gen 1 SBC's to part with. I think that I will put one of them in the 67 K10 as it's going up for sale at the April swap meet in Portland. Won't have time to make it a runner, but it will help make it a complete truck.
