That's definitely not the same exhaust manifolds or valve covers!

So what's the deal with the hose on the front of the motor then?

It's hard to say from that angle but I did know about the novelty of the GMC 305s when those pics were taken so I think I would have remembered it being a 6, maybe not

So if it's an SBC it's likely a 350?

I am thinking it may be an early 69 so it could have a 327, the intake and exhaust looks to be 327 with no accesory holes in the heads (alt is mounted to the ramhorn). That is a chev fender on the driver's side the 68-72 GMC fenders are the same as 68 chev's.

I see 4 spark plug wire boots on the engine where the spark plugs connect. the third one back is hard to see, but you can see the wire running to it. I'm guessing v8.

Good eyes there. I can barely see it but looking at the bottom alternator mount it appears that it is attached to the exhaust manifold. I am guessing that its a 327. Plus the oil fill tube at the top near the radiator hose.

Doh! The property owner finally got back to me and said this weekend is no good. So we're now shootin for the 20th or 21st (confirmed with owner). So now I'm in need of a 4x4 looking to flex it's muscles a little bit on the 20th or 21st. A winch wouldn't hurt either.

some of the 327's had a breather next to the dist. Some people remove them and replace it with a freeze plug.

The engine could be a 283 or 327, what's the casting number on the block? It's right in front of the passenger side cylinder head, it'll tell you the year and displacement.

Mike, Where are you going to store it? I have a nice tow bar and a set of lights you could borrow. Now that weather has turned it is going to be slippery on that haul out of the weeds. That does look like a 327/283 intake with the filler. I've got a couple of them here.

Looks like I may have the man/machine power lined up.

I'm waiting on a call back for another trailer... but if it comes down to it I'll rent one. Still have a couple options on storage. It looks like I may move to a new place in Dec where storage will not be an issue

For those asking what I'm going to do with it; I've been looking at a house with some property and a shop. So if I get this place I'm gonna need a truck to use as a real truck. This one will be perfect, especially if it turns out to be a 3/4 ton

Of coarse I'll tinker with it and won't be able to resist making it a nice driver, but it won't be going on a C5 chassis
