Re: good question

I'll do ya one better, Here is a couple pictures of my wife driver HER truck. She drove my 72 until i tore it apart and she still drives the 57 once in awhile. I did find out she was enjoying the Posi in it while she was leaving the fire dept. down in town. I figured if she liked it that much I put all the running gear in this truck here. (in pics it is 6lug 1/2 ton w/3.73 now it is 3/4 ton posi w/4.10).

She likes old trucks she helps me work on mine at times. She is still trying to talk me into letting her drive it when it's done. My rule is No way. You want a divorce wreck this truck once its done and I don't think things will ever be the same so here drive any one of our other 6 vehicles just not the 72, it's mine. She reluctantly agrees and asks if I will at least give her a ride to work in it someday. Of course I said yes. However she does say when we go to shows I cant buy any more projects cause the next one is hers. (She wants an early 60's wagon on bags or a Chevy II)

Re: good question

For some reason I can't see your pics. The '70 is going to be hers when its all said and done. She had a '57 Belair we were working on before she decided she didn't want a 4 door and we sold it until we can find a 2 door no-post that suites her liking. Her day job is as a diesel mechanic, so I've actually learned just about everything from her regarding engine building. I'll be out in the garage painstakingly tearing down an engine making sure I don't break any studs or chip the block...she prefers to kick it over and smash it with a sledge until it does what she wants...

I keep telling her now that I've bought her 2 favorite vehicles for her ('57 Belair and '70 C/10) that its her turn to buy me a 1st Gen Camaro...but I won't hold my breath...haha!

Kinda small pic. The truck used to be her grandpas, she drove it as a kid on the ranch.

Re: good question

My wifes pretty cool about my trucks. When we were first married I had a 76 3/4T with a 454 and it rode like a brick wagon. Her car was in the shop or something for a few days and she drove that thing to work. I think she was pretty embarassed but hey I had to break her in right?

She hates it when I spend money on the trucks but she don't mind me working on them. I think she secretly thinks its kind of sexy that i am handy and can fix things.

Here are a few pics of the family in the Jimmy. Yes she has driven it!

Re: good question

My girlfriend was driving my 69 last year! No P/S No P/B Manual trans. The only thing she complained about there was no air! She has rode in all of my truck except the 69 stepper. We have been taking off in her gas saver when we go anywhere.

Re: good question

A while back my wife and I were invited to a weekend campout/party/tubing extravagansa on the saco river in New Hamshire. At the time I was driving my 67 camper cruiser with the V6 and factory air.It was an old truck that someone had given me but it was in pretty good shape and cleaned up real good.Well when I suggested we drive the truck up North she was all worried what her freinds would think, how we were going to look driving that old thing and so on ,Im sure many of you have heard that old song.Well wasent she suprised when a dozen or more people on the hiway were hollering and giving us the thumbs up "nice truck "they were yelling. Then at the party a bunch of people all had to come out and look at it and were talking about what a nice old truck it was and were did you find it in such good shape.Oh and it was killer hot out on the way up and the AC that I had to jury rig the switch to get it running, blew us out of the cab,we had to turn it off cause it was freezing us out. She drove it a couple of times after that but never really admited to liking it.She did however drive my 69 camaro a lot when we first got married. She gets mad sometimes about all my "old stuff" and says why dont you sell all those old cars and trucks and buy one "good" one! Back in 89 I bought a 67 Impala that looked pretty decent all one color and shiny too.She was so disapointed "just another old car" Well that car got a lot of attention too and a few of her friends even said how they loved those where did you get it ,how lucky.I wish I had pictures but she barely lets me take her picture anywhere little lone in a truck.

Re: good question

My wife has trouble seeing what I see in old cars. She loves one that is fixed up but just cant seem to see the diamond in the rough. That being said the 67 that I am fixing up was her grandads and she has a lot of memories from that truck and cant wait till I am done with it.

Re: good question

Sorry about the Ford picture it was bought because I couldn't find a good deal on a car or truck in Texahoma. Now it has 130 miles and just got a new muffler, vent shades, bed liner and tonuea cover today. I will be able to pull a car home if anyone has and extra hot rod they want to get rid of!

Re: good question

my wife hasn't opted for a ride in my 71 fleet, mostly due it was only on the road two weeks before i gutted it. but at least once a month she tries to talk me into letting her take the chevelle to work or a friends house! she loves driving it but only gets to when i'm to inebriated too!! i'm sure when the trucks back together she wouldn't mind taking that for a spin

Re: good question

My wife never had a chance to drive the 69 but she loved driving our 60 half ton. She would rather drive it than her car. The 69 helped get me through a couple of tough years.

Me and my wife met at work. We were talking one day and she asked who drove the old red truck. I said it was mine. That finally got her outside. she said there is nothing like old cars and trucks. So i asked her to marry me. She ending buying a 69 chevy to go with the 70 chevy. She likes to work on them with me. She helped put a rearend in the 70. She says she is not a priss and i belive that. she loves to ride in them and go to car shows. She is the greatest woman ever. she gets on to me when i am not gettin enough done on them. so i have no problems.

My wife Diane absolutely loves 'our' truck. Loves to drive it, loves the attention it gets her, loves the time it gives us together,.... She sits by my side like it was '75 and we were still in school. I can't tell how good that feels(@ 50 years old) at the cruise on Sat. nites at Rockies drive in. Man, it just better all the time.
Here she is in our '71 C/10:

Re: good question

In about a week these two photos will be 11 years old. Me and my sweetie took Old Yeller on our honeymoon. Guess that says about all you need to know about what she thinks about my truck.

During our engagement she even helped me install the limited slip differential and ring and pinion in the rear end. Talk about a keeper. Both of them that is.

She would drive it except Old Yeller's a four speed and manuals are not her cup of tea.
