How much have you spent on the joints and shaft to hook up your steering?
I like how your truck is turning out!

I like It! Have they started on the frontend yet? Do you plan on raising the bed floor to cover it all or leave it all open to show off the tube work! Keep up the progress and pics!

Wink Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.

I can appreciate the fabrication skills, impressive, but Im just not to keen on it. You'll have to carry some of that theme throughout the rest of the truck, or it'll just look like a confused experiment on the back of the chassis. What are you shooting for with the finished ride? A slick show truck, a slammed patina ride, or traditional ??? Just curious, and no disrespect intended.

Ya I know. 1st post but I've been a lurker here for a long while. I just picked up a late 62 short wide, big back window for my son. I love these trucks, my dad had several and I've been on the hunt for one for myself. My boy gets it cause I wanna see him in a cool old ride rather than a import.

So ya I know, like I said no disrespect. Just really curious how the whole trucks look will be. What was the thinking behind the design? Trust me I've had people question my building for good and bad over the years. I always like to know what people think. But I'll still build it my way.

I'll have my son hop on here and post some pics of the new purchase soon.....

Re: Bazooka's 63 build thread.

Bazooka looking good. Is all your tubing DOM? I'm just wondering if you can get away with using eletricweld on a daily for the link bars? Can someone chime in and give some insite?

It's NEVER a good idea to run an electric-weld tubing for a link bar. You'll see it done, but not by somebody who knows what they're doing.

The main reason being is that the welded seam will be a weak point under stress.

That's what I was thinking Nate. I'm just having a hard time finding someone that sells DOM around me.

If you can't find DOM at a welding/fab shop check with EMJ and see if they have a location close to you.

Thanks, nearest place is Dallas about 2 hours away. What would be the best for the tubes? 1.5 OD .120 wall?
