They are unique, The credit for the build at this time goes to Carolina Kustoms in Portland Oregon. I have been too busy. My bussiness has grown 35% this year and now my wife and I are expecting a little girl in May. Many men can do it but not me. Ill just kick up my feet (Ha Ha - Not ) and let someone else implement my ideas. I have to give the shop credit. They have done a great job!

Received a great phone call yesterday. The radiator cover is finished. Then a terrible phone call. One of my Detroits went clickity clank. It's going to be an expensive year!

What a busy day. Made it to the shop and discussed the radiator cover and more. What do you guys think? I thought what might have been a mistake turned out to solve an issue ill share in a moment.

Yes the radiator cap is exposed.

The radiator cover acts as the upper mount as well. I love the curve added by the fabricator. On the right side of the picture you can see the core support and how the cover falls away from it. Not the line I was shooting for.


Now for that problem. The cover cuts down below the radiator core support. On previous disscussions I had expressed making this a flowing peice. After looking at it a bit it struck me, the curve/lip on the back of the radiator cover should be brought to the front of the core support. This will create a shelf accross the front support and cover the upper latch bolts on the core support. Then with the addition of a peice from the grill that will run back to the core support and curve up it will block off that gap between the radiator core support and the grill in a unique way with clean flowing lines. Im thinking of deleting the wipers, and valence vents. Then adding a hood cowl to the valence and continueing the line back to the wind sheild. Has anyone seen this? I know on the Nova forum this has ben done Im just curious how it will look.

The shop owner will not be happy Im posting this but hey. Its that cool. Instrument cluster dash mount made from a glove box. Yes that is not new but I have yet seen this design. I live in a cave so it does not surprise me.

Welcome to the site, very nice work on the truck and the Nova is sweet, one question on the 400 SB in the car, what heads are you running as I am buildind a 400 for my neighbor for his 69 GMC with a 67 clip as my next project but noticed looking at Edelbrock heads that you have to drill the steam holes, I am sure it is no big deal but wanted a bit of know on it before hand, did you drill yours or someone else for you. Here is a pic of my buddy's 69 Nova with a bit of flames we just built the whole car and new 500 plus hp 454 now we are changing up to some Dart heads and intake, only has 30 miles on it and 2 1/4 mile passes. Cool build keep posting, thanks.

That's a nice looking car. Pm sent on what info I have for those heads. Little complicated back story for them. I kind of wish I had gone with a ZZ502. It's true, you can never have enought HP!

Received a call from Lonnie at Carolina Kustoms this morning. There was an issue with the rear bumper fitment. I believe earlier I stated they would be working from the front to the rear. The front fenders had to be sent out for blasting. So they moved on to the next area. Looks like chevy itus hit the shop, this is one of two trucks now owned by the crew working there.


This how it looked today


The plan is to cut aand section the lower quarter down to extend the body line to the bottom of the bumper. this is a mock up, 2" will be added on the bumper side. The bumper will be narrowed .5" on each side and a lip will be added to the inside edge. A pocket will be cut into the quarter panel like a 68 chevelle or this ford bumper sitting at work.




Forgot to mention the hole bumper will be moved forward 1.5"s. We had considered sectioning the rear bumper top to bottom but due to cost and difference in bumper sizes front and rear I like this option better.
