Re: Update-Need Head Count...1st Mid Ohio (Yellow Springs) Mini Meet August 7th...

It's Friday...we are now down to ONE day or we can say-TOMORROW. The weather forcast looks great, more trucks than last years meet, lots of neat door prizes, and getting a chance to meet our internet truck family.

Let the party begin.

I've been sick all week, but starting to feel better today. I'm hoping to drive up and get at least a couple hours in at the show... but I can't push myself too much!

Re: Update-Need Head Count...1st Mid Ohio (Yellow Springs) Mini Meet August 7th...

70cstjr and I picked up the Circuit Rider tonight and we left Lebanon at 10pm and pulled into the Red Roof at 12 midnight. I got a parking spot right in front of the lobby so it will be visiable all night.

The truck will need fine tuning but this will be done in Sept./Oct. The Kick Down switch wasn't installed and it idles a little rough but the ac is working great and the turn signals now work.

Now for some rest

Re: Update-Need Head Count...1st Mid Ohio (Yellow Springs) Mini Meet August 7th...

You guys have fun down there tomorrow! I went to that show two years ago and had a great time as a spectator... It was a lot smaller then, maybe 150 trucks.

Next year I'll have to plan a haul trip down now that I have the '71

Well, I guess I'll be the first to post after the Ohio Mini-Meet at Young's Dairy. The day was great. Met 70cst and 70cstjr at the Red Roof Inn. From there, we went to the show.Only had about 3-4 trucks with us. Had a good time, and met some more board members there. Sure wish everyone could have made it, but understand having prior commitments. The weather co-operated all day. Sunny, 'bout 85, slight breeze, and, NO HUMIDITY! Lots of nice looking trucks, and one Oldsmobile Vista-Cruiser. Don't know why he was there? I heard someone say there was about 200-250 trucks, the Olds Vista-Cruiser, and 1 boat there today? Got some pics, and will post them as soon as I can get them converted to JPG's. Most of us were taking pics. Door prizes were given away, and Longhornman and Fine69's names were drawn, but they weren't there, and ya had to be there to win, so they lost out. Sorry guys. I forget who wound up winning your prizes? Have to get that info from 70cst. Last I saw him, he and 70cstjr were headed torward I-70 and wavin' like crazy.

Re: Update-Need Head Count...1st Mid Ohio (Yellow Springs) Mini Meet August 7th...

These are the last of my pics - many thanks to the vendors who stepped up with some GREAT door prizes just for the 67-72 board members.
Thanks to those on the boards that helped orginization the outing and bringing all of us together.
I did find out my truck managed 11.5 GPM for the trip of 200 miles or so.
Not bad for a 500hp BBC with 4.10 gears (the freeway does not get along well with my truck - it runs 3500 rpms @ 60 MPH)
We made it down and back in one piece and it was great to spend time with each and every one of you

Well, I had a really great time at the vintage truck show also. Me personally, it could not have been any better, it's not often you get to hang out at a good car show, not have your vehicle there and still have a nice spot in the shade, make instant friends, and then leave feeling like you've won the lottery. A big thanks to the vendors, and thank you 70cst, your very gracious my friend (paying it forward), also thanks to Downtown for the ride to the truck (my box was a little heavy). And to the rest of you fine folks, I don't think there was a better group there to hang out with.
