Love the build!

Couple questions for you: what oil pan did you use, and where's all the Ride Tech Air Management stuff (tank, compressor, valves and ecu)?

We used the stock oil pan that came on the motor from GM. All the air ride stuff is mounted between the frame rails just behind the cab.

I noticed you went with a boyd's welding tank, what type of regulator did you go with? What size fuel lines did you run? Did you run a return line?
We used a regulator from https://www.speedwaymotors.com/. We used this kit http://www.speedwaymotors.com/LS1-Fu...Kit,41791.html and ran #6 lines for all including the return.

Re: 1972 LS3 C10 build

Painless wiring http://www.painlesswiring.com/ supplied the wiring kit for the truck which comes with a stock location fuse box with blade fuses so you get rid of the old glass tube fuses.

Re: 1972 LS3 C10 build

Beautiful build, and some sweet parts your using.

I bought the same trans I believe (#19156257 2nd strongest GMPP has)....and it appears to be stock stall (at least on my truck)...tho the 4L85e part number listed a 2200rpm stall. After calling the selling dealer and sending pics about it I was told that it is the correct convertor for that trans.

Here's the sticker on my convertor....is yours the same? Sticker shows it to be a remanufactured unit....in a brand new trans.

I'd be interested to see how yours winds up.

Mine is pretty extreme as far as the build. Everything is new and pretty much no expense spared. You could do it cheaper than I did but I would plan on spending 75k.

I just went online and searched out the best deal from a Chevy dealer. I ended up getting the best deal from a dealer which was right up by Rick's shop. They delivered them which was great. The dealer was Uftring Weston Chevrolet Cadillac in Peoria, Illinois. Here is the link to the GM engine website. http://www.gmperformancemotor.com/category/SB.html

We have exactly the same set up... be cool radiator / LS3. Where did you all go with the Steam port? Water pump or did you tap a fitting into the radiator?

Re: 1972 LS3 C10 build

I wonder what this thing would have apraised for before the build even started, as a numbers matching Highlander SWB with AC, tilt, 30k miles, and documentation it had to have been worth a small fortune to a collector because survivors in like new condition bring the big money right now.

These old trucks don't bring as much as you would think. I did some research before I started and Hendrick had one for sale with a frame off done for around 18k. Its a shame but watch Mecum some time and there will be some trucks go through that I know people probably got 75k in and the auctioneers battle to get 30k for it. I will never sell this truck so it did not really matter to me.

Here's a bunch of old great clean pickups.
