No worries, board member Chipflyer can make you a new one that is identical to OEM ones. A truck this nice deserves it

Re: 22k original mile beauty

Why would any dealer make the glove box on a brand new truck inoperatable? I suspect a lot of the mods on this truck happened after delivery.

Re: 22k original mile beauty

While this is a very cool Truck I highly doubt these are Dealer Mods... That would have meant that the dealer would have modified the dash to accommodate the smaller radio and NO dealer is going to do that... Looking at the overall condition of the truck say the 22K miles are questionable... With only having a 5 digit speedo makes it to where you can claim about any mileage you want... I am just saying... I am not trying to knock you truck because it is very cool in any arena but it may not be what you think it is...

Re: 22k original mile beauty

Nice looking truck. The 8 track is the same kind GM used over the counter for add ons in GTO's Trans Ams, Camaros, Skylarks, etc. for many years.

If it were me adding an 8 track, I'd have gotten the whole one piece radio/tape style with the fold-down factory dial, like the in-dash ones that came factory. If I were adding one on, it sure wouldn't be way over in the face of the glove box. Not the best choice of placement, in my opinion, but it still looks neat!

Seriously? I have no idea if this truck is legit or not. I truly don't care either because it is cool no matter what.
I can tell you that your incorrect in thinking this might not have been a dealer install. In the era that this truck was built there were definitely dealers that would build "showroom specials" to showcase GM options. This very easily could be a truck that was built for promotion. It wouldn't surprise me if it weren't built for the dealer himself or a top salesman to drive.

I agree Cape Codder, we both mentioned this on earlier posts. Each photo brings out a new can of worms. This time the green overspray paint on the parking brake lever. A low mile truck should have a gloss black lever.

I suspect the overspray that you are seeing is actually reflecting off the doors. I think a more direct photo would show that the handle is black.

An 8-track player built into the glove box door? Now, if only it were a phonograph...
