I haven't worked on it in a couple of weeks so I haven't been able to swap in the correct motor mounts yet. Hopefully I'll get some work done on it this weekend, I'll let you know after I have it sitting exactly where it needs to be. I'm probably going to need new headers though as I think the driver side collector is going to sit to close to the ground.

We can arrange that!

Here's a shot of the finished bed. We put the tailgate on it last night.

The truck looks great Chad! You've put a lot of hard work into this thing, and it definitely shows. Hopefully one day, mine will look half as nice as this.

Sweeeeeet!

So....are you tempted to paint the exterior on this thing? I know you've gotten it a lot shinier than when you got it but man...that bed is SMOKIN!

What about the lower trim? Going woodgrain or what about black vinyl or painted to match? Look like the factory black trim?

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Naa.. Its for sale now. I'm just going to wrap it up as is and let it go.

This truck with an exterior paint job would be sick. That's really all it needs. .. but it does have that aged farm truck appeal to it too.

The lower trim was the darker woodgrain from the factory. We took off one of the trim pieces so we could fix a small rust spot on the lower edge right behind the DS tire. The light woodgrain is a sticker right over the original darker color. If I could find a good set of GMC woodgrain with a tailgate band I would consider changing it over but it kinda needs to find a new home. Getting some pressure from my better half to get it finished up and sold.

Dang, hate to hear you're selling it. Hope you get it sold fast and for what you want/need out of it. Wish I could afford it! Can you find me one like it (when you first bought it)

Wife & I JUST bought an impulse vacation home in Destin Fl., so this beauty is now off the table for me, but whoever ends up with it gets one heck of a jewel.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

I drove the GMC today for the first time. She rides great and handles much better than before. . We had the exhaust ran. Not to say what I don't want to, but man this is the nicest exhaust system I have ever had. The guy that did it is a good friend of mine, I have known for years. He spent over 3 hrs running the system. Its tucked under the truck nicely. I'll post a pic shortly..

Dad and I worked on the rocker panels today. There are no rust thru spots on them, just worn places from boots getting in and out of the truck. We cleaned and painted them today (base/clear) and got almost finished with them.. 2021 clear, looked like glass.. and it started sprinkling rain.

Once it dries and cures out I'll need to cut it back down and re-clear. This crazy weather has really set me back on finishing this one up.

Its rainy and nasty here in Chart and I'm just not ready for the HRPT. I am going to a huge show on Sunday though.

At the muffler shop .. I hadn't even got out of the truck and walked up to the shop and a guy was taking pictures of the truck. It really looks aggressive outside the garage. . I can't wait to drive it tomorrow.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Man that all sounds great. Except the rain. I wish I was there to go for a ride in it to see how it rides and handles. Any chance of posting a video? It would be awesome to see it in motion.
