Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

I think so. Factory the transmission was quite often silver, but I think matching looks better.
By the way, you have done some amazing fab work so fat, and the 'zombie' red looks amazing!

Glad everyone enjoys it. I think I will go matching in this situation. I've got the motor put back together and most of the parts painted but my camera is out of comission at this time

Depends, what color is the truck going to be and the interior?

The exterior will remain that graphite color and the interior will be all red.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

Painted the rest of the parts today. All that I'm lacking is painting the steering and driveshaft. Plan to get the firewall smoothed out and corvette booaster mocked up tomorrow.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

Got started on the firewall and cab cleanup, but before I could start shaving it all clean I had to figure out location of the new boaster so it would clear the hood hinges and steering.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

It doesn't look like much but it was a bit of a task to flush the boaster and reuse the factory pedal assembly. And yes I am doing the cab in the yard which is so soggy because of recent storms but toss down some cardboard and get to work.

Re: 71 C10 project "Double Tap"

Picked up a new to me grill and bumper today. That was a long and exhausting drive. Also got my front arms back from blasting with new joints and bushings.

Small update. Front suspension is going together and have all the airline routed and hooked up.

Thanks. Ive heard a lot of good responses to my color combination which has been nice seeing how I was really unsure of them. Thanks guys this is why I love this site. Such good people.

I do require some advice from fellow c10 enthusiasts. Should I do a clean shave on the firewall or should I make a delete plate that bolts in, ( referring to the heater area)? Either way the firewall will be blacked out so your eyes go to the engine and chasis. Both will take the same amount of time to look good.
