couldn't you also spray WD40 on a rag and wipe down the fender too keep the moisture off and if you have to do any work on it, just spray some brake cleaner on a rag and wipe the WD40 off. I don't know if that will work, but it just popped in my head.

Re: Porterbuilt 69

Nate,

This is your personal truck? Sweet! Its looking good. Have you installed the rear Dropmember kit yet? I would love to see pics of the finished rear setup!
This might be a stupid question but why use all the corvette gear on the front and not go independent on the rear? Just curious As fast as your selling Dropmembers I would have thought all you would be doing is working on your own ride? Keep up the good work. Later

It's a shop truck that we're going to sell once completed.

On the rear Dropmember kit we're waiting on some trailing arms... should have it installed soon, and will post up pics for all to see.

I originally was going to do the C4 out back, but figured I would use this truck to display the Dropmember rear kit that I have been working on.

As far as working on my own ride all the time... well, before the Dropmember came along I took on a few long-term and large-scale projects... add the Dropmember orders on top of that and I haven't had much time to do anything for me! There's light at the end of the tunnel and this next few months will see my shop clearing out... once I am finished with the customer projects... I don't plan on doing them anymore. OK... maybe one here or there! But really, Porterbuilt Street Rods is going to focus on suspesnion components for the aftermarket... new slogan "Products not Projects"!

Looks like maybe a couple/few months out.... do the rear at the same time? or is it staying as is?

There are several guys running the Dropmember with a BBC... I just haven't done a complete install with drivetrain, plumbing, exhaust, etc. first hand.

clearances front, back and hood.. i took my burb out to nates shop and we looked at my setup and not sure if it will work...i'm running 69 bigblock stands right now, with a long water pump(which will be the type i need for the gm serpentine setup) and i also have the dual electric fans from old air... i had to cut my radiator upper mounts to get my 1/4" clearance between the fan housing and waterpump and nate told me the motor moves up and forward with the dropmember...if i can't make it work with what i have, i'm going to have to do a bunch of fab to keep my big block(only about 2k on the motor) OR bite the bullet and go with an ls motor(better mpg, but more work (ie. new gas tank, fuel lines and more teardown from where i am now)).. plus the cost of the ls(have a line on a complete 2000 truck, all the parts i want for $2500... didn't mean to get this lengthy, nate..thanks for the help
