Re: Serpentine belt conversions

Tom I'm going to be getting a 69 gmc truck soon, however I'm not a mechanic what so ever, but I do know I want this conversion for the 350 small block. Here is response from the PO as I haven't taken ownershp of the truck jury yet:

It's a new motor but there are no dates on the block or heads that I now of. When ordering parts get them for a first generation small block with perimeter bolt heads they are all the same from 1973 through 1985. But most parts will fit on a first generation small block from 1955 to 1987. That's the beauty of a Chevy small block most parts are interchangeable no matter what the cubic inch.

Tom please help me determine what I need for a non a/c truck, with a working heater?

The kit in this thread would work just fine on any SBC if it has the accessory holes in the cylinder heads. I can do it with a idler in place of the AC pump if you do not have AC. Thanks, Tom

225.00 for a kit and add 100.00 for detailing. I media blast the aluminum brackets and thoughly clean everything else and paint. 20.00 less w/o the fan and clutch. Shipping on these seam to always run about 65.00 bucks.

Re: Serpentine belt conversions

Do you still have any of the sbc serpentine systems available? I have a 350 with no factory a/c. I may add some sort of vintage air system in the future but that would be way down the road. Would I need all new components or would the p/s pump and alternator from my existing set up work? What would the price be shipped to a business address in 77501?

Thanks in advance! - Ryan

Yes I can do a kit. I believe Vintage Air has a bracket kit to use their pump in place of the R4 pump. I do not have a idler that takes the place of the pump at this time to get you by till you add a AC pump. It is available from GM but it is about 60.00 as I recall. You can not use your PS pump or Alt, they are different. I can do one for 185.00 less the AC pump and 72.00 shipping.
Thanks, Tom

Thanks for the reply Tom. Had some engine issues arise this weekend that may set me back a little bit budget wise. I'll get back to you when I get it all sorted out.

Talking Re: Serpentine belt conversions

I just wanted to say thank you. You did and awesome job on the detailing. I got it put on my 72 Chevy Pickup yesterday. I had found another thread and it said to take the piece out of my old power steering pump where the high pressure hose went and put it in the new pump . I got from you with the Serpentine belt conversions. So I could use my hoses. I love this site!!!!! I'll Post pictures sometime today.

Hi Tom. I would like a small block set when you have one ready to ship. Can you give me an estimate on when you will have one and shipping to 39218? Thanks.
