No kidding. I had to look up "CK" on the VIN. Learned something new today.

engineer_gregh's 71 is beautiful. Super clean, even with the engine compartment installed on it's side.

A short bed step side Super with air in Orange! Thats a rare truck. I just missed a short bed step side Cheyenne with original 402 factory black truck here in Nashville. Please post a build thread as you restore that truck if you haven't already done so.

I think you'll have a stunning and rare stepper there when you're done. D99 stripe is perfect on a stepper. And with the parchment interior, it will be gorgeous. Congrats!

I don't have any pics il take a couple in the morning. Glovebox and door panels are in the woodgrain. Does have headliner but fell off so I'm conditioning it as we speak. I got lucky that nobody tried to put a CD player in and cut the dash up so it's intact. It didn't come with factory tach but I owned a 69 short step about 10 years ago and pulled that out before I had to sell it. It cleaned up really well inside so i lucked out.

I saw where some of yall were saying sierra grande's didn't have houndstooth. Here is the spid out of a 72 sierra grande I bought a few years ago. I also included a pic of the seat. It has houndstooth interior. This truck was all white also.

72 3/4t Sierra Grande. Original bench was recovered when I got it but I'm sure it was a houndstooth as well. I put the buckets in

thx for sharing, I'm GMC-stupid, I have to admit. That's the first I've ever seen with houndstooth, but then again, I guess if I'm honest, I'm always lookin at Chevys. Any more Sierra Grande seat material data points out there?

Here is my 1972 Cheyenne Super 20 Camper Special truck. I still have the original 402/TH400 that came out of it. The drivetrain consists of a Cummins/5spd now. I replaced the smashed front bumper with a spare 1970 one and hid the turn signals behind the grill.

Strange interior color.

Love that color combo - ochre with olive interior.

Looks better than one that was on ebay a few years ago- hugger orange with olive interior & it was listed that way on the SPID. Nice Cummins swap!

Re: Post a real Cheyenne Super only (aka the defiinitive Cheyenne Super thread)!

Here is my 72 SWB Cheyenne Super. 36000 miles. I'm sure it was said in the thread, but the only piece I couldn't find reproduced was the glove box door chrome trim around the woodgrain. Not all the houndstooth colors you see today are original either. I believe there were only 4 original houndstooth colors. Blue, white, and olive....can't remember the fourth. The 307 is no race machine, but I hate to mess with it. She still has the original two barrel. Would love to drop something in around 400hp like my old GMC LWB had. Anyway, great thread. 15x8 steelies on the way with chrome and blue dog dishes.

Nice truck, thanks for sharing. Only three custom cloth colors and you named em all (olive, blue, parchment). The tailgate handle brightwork is not available aftermarket (71 chrome and 72 stainless slip on).

Yep, forgot about that too. It's a bummer for those looking to reproduce. BUT, I am glad there are a few parts that prove originality. If this truck were OCHRE, it would probably be the last one I would buy.

Just to clarify my reply to your previous post, the stainless trim under the glovebox woodgrain is reproduced. The tailgate handle/handle sleeve is about the only part I have not seen reproduced.

Thanks jocko. If i remember correctly, the 71 chrome tailgate handles are available in LMC and Classic Parts, but not the 72 sleeve. Where can i find a glove box trim? Thanks again.
