I just spent two hours retaping, cleaning, wiring, and repairing my headlight harness before I figured out that it was for a four headlight gmc that I have. I think it will work other than the fact that it will have an extra connector for another Headlight. Does anyone know if my high beams will be screwed up. I only just though about that as I am typing this....dang......lol, more work.

After talking to my wife about my wiring, she bought me a brand new harness for valentines day!!! I just have to wait for it to come in now though... I have a ton more work to do anyways....

I have been cutting and trimming making everything fit since I z'd the frame. It looks like its all going to work for me now though. I still have to cut the inner fenders to make them work, but I will get to it. I will have some pictures soon.

Oh great, I just put the same 73-87 3 inch ground force springs in my 68 and then i come across this info. lol. I dont think i'll have any problems though. At least i hope not because i cant send them back now.

I think the way to go is a 1.5" pancaked crossmember. Engine stays in the stock position. No floor cutting etc. Just a little steering and inner fender work. I'm going to try that at some point.

I am still chuggin away on this sucka. I have been on kinda a hold lately. Spent last night bolting on all the front tins to make sure its all going to line up for final assembly. So far its not looking good. The core support and front fenders are aftermarket along with the inner fenders and none of the holes are close. I knew I was going to have to spend some time enlongating holes. I will try and get some pictures soon. I have a ton to take.

I feel your pain on the a/m sheet metal. I'm going to try and find some clean OEM stuff for mine but who knows. Can't wait to see some pics!

Man I would love to buy that font xmember and all. That would have been really nice to have. The whole purpose of building this truck was just to get some experience. I really want my 61 more than anything. Look back at the first pictures of this truck and remember that it was not much of a truck. Now I have a ton of money in it and I am really diggin it a whole lot. I just wish I could have afforded the porter system. I DO have another short frame though......hmmmm. I could always build another chassis and drive it till its done on the frame I have now... I am too A.D.D.

I have been slacking a lot lately on my truck. I have a new baby due to arrive in the next twenty days or so and have just been busy. Here are a ton of pictures of what I HAVE accomplished.

I now have spark plug wires!! I still have to cut them to length though.


Here is a glance of the wiring harness I fixed. I still have to do some work to the fuse block. I also had to strip all the old tape to separate the ignition so it would reach the new ignition location in the edsel dash.


I also found an adapter kit for the steering wheel a buddy of mine gave me.


Picked up some wall art for the shop too. Will need help putting it on the wall.


New oil dipstick and tranny dipstick.

This is the new spot for the ignition switch.


I need to find a spot under the dash for all these goodies. I don't have the vintage air kit yet and will not for some time so I am not really sure of how much room I have. I also need to pay attention to where a radio will go.

This is temporary. I am going to purchase the correct stuff later to be safe.


I made this to shift using a cable. So far it seems to work. I still have to make a bracket to attach to the firewall.

Yep, I can't wait to see this puppy slammed on air ride, painted, new wheels and all the hundreds of other items I want to. Anyone know the cheapest place to buy the brackets for these trucks?

Yeah, I can make the back ones, but why reinvent the wheel for the front ones. I have seen some crazy prices for the front ones for some reason.

I know there's someone here on the site that is making them. For some reason I can't for the life of me remember who it was Here's a Ebay link to some, this seller has uppers, lowers, or both. It may even be the guy from the site, I seem to remember him being from NY. Price doesn't seem too bad.
