Re: Period Correct Accessaries for your truck...
I bought this last week end at a local outdoor flea market, ( same place I bought the 8 track player new in box 3 years ago.) In the box, never used! converts 8 track to cassett. Back in 1970 when I had an 8 track in my car, I had one that you could convert 8 track to FM radio by plugging it into the 8 track, then hooking up an antenna. Another score for me......

Also the output was better than FCC specs -- being grandfathered-in from previous regulations. I wonder if it would fit under the dash on my '68 C/10 with a 4-speed stick? Might be more room under the seat, but that would limit access to the controls: channel change, volume, squelch, etc. A pre-amp/noise-canx Mic was the mod everybody did back then. Remote speaker would be good too. One limitation of the Ones and Twos was the need for a pair of discrete crystals for each channel. Five channels in the Whiteface [10] and ten in the Blackface [20]. A remote channel selector [w/40 freqs] that plugged into the input for a single pair of crystals would improve the unit's utility. I was never able to find such a thing in 11 Meter /27 MHz equipment. I'm not a Ham.

Re: Period Correct Accessaries for your truck...
Any one recall these? Digging thru the garage today looking for something else I found these that I had put up. (Boy, my kids are gonna love me one day, LOL). Don't recall just when I did get them but it was quite a few years ago. Would work great mounted to the side of a work truck door panel, glove box, tool box or wall in the garage or shop as they fold up when not in use. Holds several different size cups, one is adjustable the other is not but both hold several sizes well. Also holds the "adult" beverages very well, LOL.
If any one has an interest in them I have a couple more I can part with. Seems I always buy extras just too have on hand. Must be why I keep finding items from way back.

Re: Period Correct Accessaries for your truck...
Pete, pretty sure I can fix you up with a couple. May be the last two I have but I have one in the garage by my tool box and one in the shop by my tool box so I'm good there. Will get back with you later.

Re: Period Correct Accessaries for your truck...
I imagine you can still buy these but I bought this in the seventies along with the cb radio I tossed when it quit years ago.Kind of forgot I still had the bull horn. The seventies were kind of blurry but I do remember having a lot of fun with the horn.

Came in handy when some fiesty heiffers got in my way on a narrow mountain road. They didn't care about my stock horn, but whistles and ''cowboy'' impressions got them moving. [Old US 666, now US 195 -- they changed the route number because it was cheaper than repeatedly replacing the signs stolen by Heavy Metal fans.] Mine was plastic and broke, eventually. You could also switch it so you could ''copy the mail'' thru the speaker, if hanging out in front of the truck.

Re: Period Correct Accessaries for your truck...
I know this isn't a C/L thread but I stumbled across this thought "what the hey" it's not like I'll ever see one of these again. I have a vague memory of one of these over the back hook seats in a station wagon I rode in. I'll have to ask my sister if she remembers it to.
https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/...189131537.html have a car seat from 1968. It was made and shipped from the Gerber Company. It comes with the original shipping box and original instrution sheet (not in good condition). This seat was made before any Federal standards and just hooks over the seat back. One side is frozen in place closed and I can't get it to move. Maybe you are good a fixing things like that ??

HO455 -- you might try some WD-40 or PB Blaster down those frozen extruded tubes. I guess they were made to have a variable width, in case you wanted to hang the seat off the tailgate to give the kid a real thrill.
