Now I think about it I think you've mentioned how you did it in another thread. Looks good and thanks for the tips I was thinking about that route but my stock mounts were kinda beat looking so I didn't even want to hassle cutting rivets I had enough on the s10 frame when I put my 4 link in. Plus I want to sell the stock frame soon, its taking up my side yard/summer fab shop.
But I got one side built last night ended up building a 1x3 frame that bolts to the frame rail also doubles as a slider and keeps my sheet metal from getting thrashed.

Re: Project U S Army Sargent Slam

I love my harbor freight plasma cutter. I have used it about 10 times so far without a single problem.$650 was a heavy hit, but worth it

45 minutes later with a cut off wheel. Since the bump stop bracket was welded to the frame I couldn't use the plasma

10 minutes with the plasma. The longest part was marking the frame with a sharpie for the cut.

Re: Project U S Army Sargent Slam

I've used a 230v gas Harbor Freight mig about 13 years now. have had to rework the handle/nozzle/gas feed several times but it won't die. have it rigged to use a 20 pound spool also. might have to check out that plasma cutter.

Re: Project U S Army Sargent Slam

Got one frame notch welded and bolted in. Believe it or not. I am mentoring a 15 year old neighborhood kid on building this truck and I had him do all the prep and welding for the c notch. The welds had perfect penetration. He has lots of skill and talent beyond his age.
