installed new weatherstripping. my old weatherstrips were installed backwards. you have to see that gap between the top edge of the door and the weathertrip. if its flush against it, its backwards

^looks like you got the same springs and bracket I got. I have the other spring. Is the double spring the correct way? did you make that extension yourself or is that available at the auto parts store?

Yes, use the double spring. One is for safety, if one breaks or comes off...Jim

The link is just a piece of scrap steel that I picked up and drilled a couple of holes in.

3M Undercoating PN 08883, stunk for a day or two then went away. It dries hard.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Put in a parts order, condenser/dryer lines, mirrors, bumper bolts and visors. Next is figuring out the paint I want to use, still debating single stage/clear vs BC/CC with a little metallic....

Installed some side trim on the 58. I was pretty excited to finally find these for my truck.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Here is my project . It is a 52 7 window . It was started by some unknown person who did the original body work and abandoned for 7 years with no glass or cover. All the door bottoms are out, the front end has rust under the filler from all of the modifications. Grinding out Bondo that is over an inch thick in places!.
The cowl and floor pan is an S10 Blazer with a 4.3 Vortec ,auto,4x4 . The body is channeled 6 inches . The front end is all custom and channeled also. The rear clip is 2x4 tube with truck arm suspension and bags. Still have a lot of rust to fix in the doors and front end. The rear doors are suicide, that are made from doors sectioned to remove 12 inches in the middle and swapped side to side to hinge with stock hinges. hope to get ready to paint by spring.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Thanks for the compliments on the burb Ricott! I don't have a bunch of pictures of the build because I bought it as a half finished project. I plan on tearing it apart and finishing the body work and paint. I will for sure take a few pictures along the way and post them up. I'm hoping to get going on this thing soon because I would love to cruise it around next summer.

Slowly gathering parts for my 383 stroker and building it. Have short block assembled and waiting on new valve springs, oil pump, intake, carb, valve covers, fuel pump, water pump and much more.

I'm down to just little fixits, and trying to upgrade and improve the looks under the hood. Really miss the action of restoring the old truck when I first got it! Man, I remember the thrill when I first got the lights to work!! This weeks project wasn't much, but replaced the heaterhose (actually a bypass from the waterpump to the block) as its not hooked up to the heater. This is So Calif, don't need no stinkin heater Ha! The ugly old red hose ran up and over the right side of the intake manifold and looked like shat. Ran a new black hose down along the frame and kinda outa site.

What is that hose for coming from the front passenger side of the intake manifold??

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

I think you must mean the pcv hose that comes up from the pcv valve in the valley cover at the right front of the engine and goes into the base of the carb?
