Those look even better than the picture you showed me a while back. Time for some Rubber! Joe Martin not only builds nice bikes but wheels too! I am going to have to check out his website.

Re: Randomhero's Build Thread.. finally!!!

well there is a problem, the f'n idiots who package these used cardboard scraps with STAPLES left in them, so it looks like im going to have to send 2 of them back because the paint around the edges is fubar from the wheels rubbing on metal while in the box

Re: Randomhero's Build Thread.. finally!!!

255-35-20.. i know its a small tire, but the truck will be low and i dont want to run into any tire rubbing issues w/a larger tire..

Re: Randomhero's Build Thread.. finally!!!

Got your a/c billet vent balls from vintage air as well as the vintage air controller. Love the controller, looks like maybe they sublet out the balls, they do not operate very well, they get stuck when you try to move them around. I guess you wouldn't move them much once you adjust them though?

yea, they're probably tight so they dont move freely when the air is coming thru.. how is tha a/c controller going to fit?

Worked on your hood some yesterday and very little left to the front edge of the fender. Exhausted from work today and the darned heat so back on the parts tomorrow.

Re: Randomhero's Build Thread.. finally!!!

Yes, Luke has the rendering done and all but is still under wraps unless "HE" decides to post it. Sorry guys. Wish I could be of more service to you. I did talk to Joe Martin this weekend at Heatwave of Martin Bros. Bikes of the world famous Biker Build-Offs and wants pics of truck when done. Maybe he can showcase his wheels with this truck!!

Re: Randomhero's Build Thread.. finally!!!

am i being lame by keeping everything a secret??? i probably am, i just thought maybe the suspence would make it that much better we're going w/two-tone, not 110% sure on colors, but 99% sure.. also going to do a lot of different stuff w/moldings and such.. lets just say im anti chrome, i really like the "murdered-out" look (google it) so we'll see... carlos when will you be ready to spray some color on anything?

Not until all of the body is done and blocked out about 3-4 times at least. This is going to be "slick". Trust me when I say you will be able to shave in the finish. I am about ready to just leave my job and take the projects there and work on them full time. These 12 and 13 hour days working for someone else is CRAP!!

Re: Randomhero's Build Thread.. finally!!!

Per our conversation on the phone. Your rear half of the frame is painte semi-gloss black. We really need to pull the rear end and trailing arms to be sent off to be blasted. It makes them look like crap and do not think I can sufficiently clean them to look good as they sit. I feel like the front control arms need to be done as well to look better. Let me know Luke.

Re: Randomhero's Build Thread.. finally!!!

Probably going to get flamed, but no pics tonight... although i am posting here w/a couple questions

I'm going to go into a little more detail on the truck, and am going to begin complete tear down this week, you guys think anyone would want the stock heater core and under dash assembly? also want the heater control... It's going to all be coming out and i wondered if its worth the trouble trying to sell that stuff or just toss it? Also have all the glass from the truck (minus wing windows), all in pretty good shape, thinks its worth anything

Plan for this weekend is probably get the rear end out and the rear air-bags in there... we'll see what happens, need to order some parts tonight to make anything happen.. i will keep everyone posted, and probably start a new thread, this one is tainted
