Cowl extention

The valence was discussed again. The wipers and valence vents will be removed. A cowl will be installed on the valence up to the front window. Both the back edges of the hood cowl and valence cowl will have the same angle. My big and bulky 69.

Re: Torchered

Took a look at the rear bumper progress. Pretty snazzy. Rear bumper has been sucked in 1.5 inches and the rear quarter body has been dropped. Moving the body line smoothly from the bottom of the rear bumper to the wheel well opening. The bumper corners had been trimmed and rounded. John said next he was going to box the rear quarter behind the rear bumper to finish it off. Sometimes all I want to say it stop! Paint it! So I can drive it.

Im planning on doing more driving then showing, what do you guys suggest:

1. Paint the frame or powder coat?

2. Fill in the bolt holes on the frame or not.

I only plan on attending the Portland Roadster show in hopes of getting invited to the Salem Roadster show. Some local shows might come up but more then likely it will be in the parking lot taking up 2 spots.

I would paint if your going to drive it around, if you ever get any type of ding, repair is the easiest

Re: Torchered

Powder coat with a clear powder coat over the top. the finish will be bullet proof. I've done all my show cars that way and was able to drive and enjoy them with very little cleaning and no touch up to the powder coat

Six years! That is about the time I have in my Nova so far. Alot of $$ in performance and go parts but no body work yet. Atleast it drives.

So whats your post count today? LOL

New pics lets see whats going on!
Instrument Cluster

Looks like a stock bumper!

Sucked in and body work roughed in around it.

The top of the bumper needs a little more filler panel to seal the deal.

I cannot decide if I like this or if it needs to have more of a straight line down the end of the bumper.

Re: Torchered

We discussed filling the frame bolt holes. It was decided to only fill the holes that can be seen through the wheel wells. Cheep but hey some things are just over the top.
I also heard rumors of starting the fuel filler in hte driver side rear tail light.

At this point I would like to say " This is only a shop truck that the shop will NEVER and I mean NEVER drive". LOL

Re: Torchered

Is rubber lining the bottom of the entire truck a bad thing? There is no plan for dispaly mirrors, its a driver/cruiser.

I don't think it is. It will help reduce road noise and keep rocks from removing paint and such will cause rust later. I under coated my cab and plan to spray a liner on my bed floor too. By the way, your bumper mod looks sweet!

Re: Torchered

That is a nice touch on the bumper tuck, makes me want to dump my Rollpan and go back to a bumper. Anybody have any idea on a rear tailight fuel fill, it would be nicer than the spout coming out of my rear wheel well.

Thank you - still deciding on the side profile. It seems off.

Re: Torchered

Looking good, I like the welded gate and the bumper mod, dont see that bumper mod every day. Is that a whole tailgate or did you cut the skin off and just weld it in ? If it is a whole gate are they going to weld the upright seams on the inside of the bed too ? keep on pluggin away and you'll be hauling parts in that "work truck" soon.
