Re: Nsane 52' Chevy Truck!

I am doing a 6 liter swap into my 52, what did you do with the power steering pump? The truck unit has three lines, an you really only need two.

An easy cure for ths is to run solid engine mounts if anyone would be worried about that strain on the exhaust. Most rod shops I have talked with said they don't over tighten the inlet at the muffler to allow for some flex. They will use a stainless clamp to keep the clean look. Very nice build, and I'm loving all the work you have in there!

[quote=S10Fan;4675935]I see a "HushPower" muffler on the floor. How do you like those and how would they compare to the regular 50 series? Quieter, Louder?

The hushpower mufflers sound great on the truck, it has a low deep rumble to it at idle and really comes to life when you open it up. Thanks

I'm swapping the pump out so I'm not real sure yet how its going to work? As soon as I get the new kit on after we finish the engine work and paint I'll let you know.

We started the inner fenders today. The drivers side is tacked together and now its time to decide where the vents will go. The new bedsides should be here this week, so I blasted the rear fenders and will start the metal work on them tomorrow. DeWayne

Re: Nsane 52' Chevy Truck!

Did you hammer form that lower fender patch or what method did you use to bend that lip? If so, can you show pics of the form you made? Thanks!

No, I used a tipping wheel to make the lip and used a shrinker to make the bend. It was a little more involved than that, but if you need the complete run down I'll write up a small how to. DeWayne

Thanks guys, I'll try to post a complete (how-to) on the rear fender repair this coming week. I will be repairing the rear fenders on the other truck as we finish the metal work on the bed, so I will use it as the project truck.
