Are you running the hills inners? Did you cut out the inner part of the fender and then just fill in with those pieces? That's a good idea. I kinda remember seeing that in your build thread.

Yes I cut out the inner fender and added in a piece. Seemed like the cleanest way to do it. I basically copied what N2BILLET did on his truck.

Thank you, glad to have you aboard. I need to order a cam this week. Any suggestions? 5.3 with stock heads. 4l80e, looking for something with lots of torque down low but nothing that will fall on its face in the upper rpms.

If you want something for a fairly stock 5.3L that has good power though out the curve I would look at something in this range http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cr...make/chevrolet

This cam is comparable to an LS6 cam with a little more intake duration. The added duration gives it a better power curve over the LS6 which isn't great down low in our trucks.

What do you think of the TSP 220/220 112lsa at .581? Its fairly mild and makes decent power. I have ls6 springs im not sure they can handle the lift, but those are easy enough to swap out.

A lot of good threads on the LS forums on TSP low lift cams with factory converter. Look into Brian Tooley also. Their Stage 1 & 2 truck cams get a lot good feedback.

Pretty sure the Texas Speed 220r is a .600 lift cam. In a 5.3L you will definitely notice it at idle and it works pretty well. The only thing is you will sacrifice a little down low with it but make it up on the top end. Are you planning on a converter too?

I was just looking at those last night. They seem like a good option too. I need to find some hp/tq numbers for them.

Maybe the 1 i looked at was a custom grind, not sure. It was a YouTube video lol. Yeah I'll run a stall if needed. I'll pull the ls6 springs and install higher lift springs if needed as well. I want to do it right the first time

Thanks Kyle! I'll be hitting you guys up for carpet and a seat cover before long. Laidback has been my vendor of choice(wheels and accuair e level)! Sarah has had the best prices out of everyone, I highly recommend Laidback Recreations to everyone.

Yeah should be here monday

im ready to get the motor all buttoned up. Still need injectors, fuel rail and all the drive accessories but it's getting there.

I went with a BTR truck cam

Got the heads bolted back on and pulled the balancer and oil pump off to get ready for the cam install on Monday. I set the intake manifold on just to see how it looks.

Sorry for the rotated pics. I try fixing them on my phone but once i upload them they rotate sideways.
