Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

thats a cool truck Don and will be a fun build.
looks like someone changed to a 60 grill with the bars in the middle... all the better.

Pete and I are going out to Eddies this Saturday... do you want me to secure that hood? Not sure if we can bring it back this trip but we can make sure it's not sold and for him to hold it till we can get it.

those early models can really grow on ya... congrats on getting her home.
JoJo approves too...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Well done Don.

Like I did say to you before.

This truck has three things I like.....

1.) Gun rack
2.) Camper shell
3.) Apachè name tags (Would rock those on my truck for sure)

OK, so number 4 is the fact JoJo approved of it all.

Although the tailgate is a bonus, the missing hood puts a slight damper on things, but I do know where one resides in the hills in NW Arkansas...

No direction in mind as of yet, put the proverbial gears are turning...

Yes please on Securing the hood!!! Thanx a ton!!! I like the early grille as well, I remember when the new year model cars came out in September, and since I'm a Nov 60 model, the 61 with 60 grille fits

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

I was typing replies earlier on my phone and a bunch of replies came through whilst I was hunting and pecking on the little phone keyboard...

I think I caught up finally… so after work this afternoon I had my bro-in-law help me get the hood I had lying around bolted on...

In the very first post of this thread I mentioned that I was originally looking at a '60 model a friend of mine has… well I went with the '65 and now have found out this is a '60 model that was built in St. Louis, not a '61...

So as Clem, so astutely, noticed it is rocking a '60 grille which it was born with...

Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Sorry guys, but for more pics you will have to wait for the Build thread coming soon!!!

I'll be keeping an eye pealed for that build thread!

Turbo would be kinda cool on that 235. If it ain't locked up, but if you add enough boost that'll unlock it!

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Today was a good day off… Not only was the Sun shining and the temp in the upper 50's in mid Dec, it was also TRUCK TIME!!!

Not a lot done, but I did get to enjoy sanding and more sanding...

The Stepper fenders, where I frenched in the taillight buckets…

Getting ready...

In progress…

This is after the 80 grit, still gotta go finer and smooth out the filler, but another step closer nonetheless...
