Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Lookin' good. I always liked the red primer.

I can't get over our mild winter this year. It was warm here yesterday but very windy.

My daily driver laid down on me and had get a tow home. The tow truck guys helped me get the truck in the shop and then I was able to use a come along and pull it on the lift.
Had to replace the fuel pump.
These new to me in tank pumps are a bigger job to change than the old school small block chevys on the side of the block.

You're making great progress Don, knocking doors out of windows (as my Dad would say)

It's great to see the weather in Arkansas is a little better than North East England

Thanks Don. No rush, just when you get time.

Woops! never mind bro... just saw on FB where Pete asked you the same thing. Geeez, I gotta learn how to keep up with this tech stuff.

Have a good one...
Good talking with you earlier Clem… Following this up with the measurements...

Glad for the mild winter… sorry to hear you had pump issues, and yep, bigger job than the old school mechanical pumps...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

I'm posting this for Clem and Pete and the crew at Tuba Trucks, along with a shout out to Cotton!!!

Pete hit me up for measurements on the location of the hole for the spare mount bracket inn the cutaway fender… Seems the re-pops don't have the hole pre-punched… So I hope this helps Pete and anyone else who needs to drill a re-pop…

Here's a crude, not to scale, sketch along with a couple of pics of my OEM fender...

Bed is currently in this position… Last weekend, I flipped the bed in order to remove the step supports to allow access to the front bolts for the outside edge boards… I re-bolted the cross sills in order to get enough clearance so the bed wouldn't be resting on the ground…
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

In the process of evaluating what to do with the bed floor, I considered the budget aspect and the fact that without a lift I am not a fan of crawling around on the ground as much as I used to... I've decided to steal an idea from Coulter… (If you haven't seen this amazing build, check it out… Here's a link…

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Had a great 2 days off… not a lot of truck time, as I was getting the finishing touches done on the smoker I've been working on… as well as taking care of some Honey-Dooz… Gotta earn those points...

Here a swing that's in progress for my beautiful bride…
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Treated 2x4 frame with Cedar slats…

I did get the tailgate completely primed and bed liner sprayed on the interior… the body color will over flow the front edge of the bed so it was natural to bring the berliner over the same shape of the tailgate…
