Re: 69 c-10 swb

Nice meeting you Nate..I really enjoyed seeing your truck in person. VERY nice !!! BTW Your peddal car ROCKS !!

I also got to talk to Jeff "hot trux" again and drool over his PERFECT stepside once again. I hope to see you guys at springfield.

The 68 was supposed to make the trip to missouri and decided to develop an engine noise the night before, So the nomad was loaded on the trailer in its place. " little brother " realized he left the keys to the nomad in tulsa as we were pulling into osage beach Missouri !!

We found a way to get it running without the keys and had a great time at the show.

The 69 averaged 17-18 mpg over the 500 mile trip, all went well besides one rock chip in the front of the hood on the way home.

Glad to hear you made it back safely and that's some great MPG for the 69.

Awesome truck. Not a big fan of yellow but this one is sweet. One question I had was how does it ride that low? Do you ever hit the headers or anything? And do you have the exhaust running through the frame or under it? Looks great in the weeds though with a static drop

Thanks for the compliment. The truck rides great, I have mid length headers and no problems.

Re: 69 c-10 swb

I have been really busy with work,,,but, I did get the zz4 engine back together this week, Installed hot cam kit, while I was getting the new valve springs installed I went ahead and had some port work done on the G.M aluminum heads. They flow ALOT better now !! I got the heads back on the engine and the new 1.6 roller rockers mounted and the valves adjusted.

I also painted the short block with dupont single stage gloss black.

I will get some pics this weekend.

Hey Nate, you know how a simple engine fix turns into a nightmare? Well that's what's happened to the 68. I have the engine tore apart and decided to go ahead and yank the 3- on the tree and put a 700 r trans in it. With work, family, and everything else it's a slow process.

Re: 69 c-10 swb

I have been very busy with work and the lake

I pulled the engine out of the 69 and should have the new engine in it in a week or so.

I fixed the 68 and yanked the 3 on the tree out of it, put a 700r in its palce and a tilt column. A good friend of mine fell in love with it and he now owns it, I hated to see it go but I needed to free up some space and $$ for the list of additions im doing to the 69. I will get pics soon.
