Re: Slowly I build a truck
Thanks guys!
Door handle installed on Drivers side: I broke the bolt trying to put the passenger side door handle on so I'll have to drill that out and find a new bolt. Don't try the 'just one more turn' method on these! Last edited by FLcustom10; 11-24-2012 at 05:16 PM. |

Re: Slowly I build a truck
Installed the charcoal canister. I think most people just ditch it, but I decided to keep it for old times sake. I found the filter at NAPA. Wix part number 42998, NAPA part number 2998. Left hand hose goes to carb, middle to PCV valve, right to fuel tank.

Re: Slowly I build a truck
New Fuel Tank grommet from Wes at Classic Heartbeat.
I put it in a pot of boiling water and wiped the area down with dawn dishwashing soap and slid it on. I pushed it down too far and tried using wooden popcycle sticks to get it back over the lip. They break too easy. I wound up using a screw driver wrapped in electric tape. I had a few panicky moments thinking I wasn't going to get it, but it finally popped into place after about 15 minutes. I wound up using a little bit of white lithium grease on the grommet on the inside of the cab to get that last little bit over the lip. |

New Grille coming soon. It looks like it's going to be an adventure getting these pieces to fit together. I've learned not to expect them to fit.

Re: Slowly I build a truck
Thanks guys. I haven't gotten to the rear speakers yet. I haven't found a bag for the jack tools yet either. I did order a Houndstooth seat cover
at the Moultrie swap meet last week so hopefully the seat will be going in soon. |

Re: Slowly I build a truck
Mounted the Painless Wiring Maxi-fuse to the charcoal canister. I'm wondering if I could have hidden it inside the old voltage regulator housing, but at this point the wires are already on this side of the truck.
