Re: My 65 Pickemup project

Thanks guys, it's been fun.
Ya that's a York compressor, off a Volvo. Same one you would find on an old ford pickup though. If you're going to get one make sure you get the long stroke version. It fills my 2 3 gallons tanks to 170 psi in just over 30 seconds. And doesn't make a sound. ( well you can hear the clutch engage lol ). I got mine on ebay, think I paid $150 rebuilt with a thing of synthetic oil.

looks great Del....love the contrast between the really clean suspension/engine work and the old, natural patina of the truck....keep up the great work!

The York compressors were used on Mopars also.

Thanks,

I went out to Arizona last week to see my truck at Nates shop. He's done with the gas adjust hood hinges and the body drop.

So soon it should be back in pieces at the powdercoat shop soon.

Re: My 65 Pickemup project

Thanks Olskool. Well here are some pics of the ol heap on the road. Still trying to find a nice ride height but one the pics is where it seems to ride well and still be pretty low. I can drive this thing an 1/4 inch off the ground if I want, only in a perfect world would the streets be good enough though.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
