Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: CUSTOM CAMPERS lets see them!

OK all you Custom Camper Folks,

I have a challenging (well, for me anyways) question. I am just about to start the cab portion of my custom camper restoration I am having a hard time identifying 4 screws in both my door jams. I have looked all over to see what kind of option they represent and have had no luck. I have not seen them in any pics I could find either. I was hoping the powers that be having much more knowledge than I could help me identify them. I need to know if I should have them welded up after the sandblast and consider them a useless PO additive, or keep them and add back whatever the heck was there..

Much appreciation in advance for the look and possible ideas. I have attached a pic to reference, there are 4 total screws, 3 shown and one additional just above the top hinge.

Thanks

Re: CUSTOM CAMPERS lets see them!

Having made a few I'd say it was for a windshield cover. Those screws may have been for the male snap studs or just filler screws. You would snap it on place with the doors open then close the doors. Some campers used them when they were parked to reduce sun in the cab and for privacy.
Sometimes a kid would be bedded down on the front seat of the truck instead of setting up the table bed too.
No need to keep them, just weld up the holes.

Re: CUSTOM CAMPERS lets see them!

Not sure if this qualifies, but the coding says:
C20
Camper nameplate
HD springs f/r
Auxiliary rear spring
Custom sport package

In 67-68 the Z81 Custom Camper emblem option replaced the series plate on the fenders with this emblem.

Yours were likely changed over the years to the standard 20 emblems.

I'll have to get a picture. It's weird, I have one fender with a C20 logo and the other is my camper one. Is that normal?

EDIT: it's no big deal, it's all coming off and going short bed too. Anyone need the logo?

It isnt clear here 20custom70, but were you satisfied with my answer in post #199 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=199 or are you seeking more?

For thoses who are lost by the question here a link to #197 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=197 with the OP's picture.

While I still think these were for a windshield cover, there is the possibility they could have been for air deflectors too. They were kind of a spoiler in front of the vent window full of holes to cut down noise while driving with the windows open.

Re: CUSTOM CAMPERS lets see them!

I got this one a couple weeks ago. I wanted to find some sport mirrors but after looking at this thread and all the cc's I feel like I should keep the big mirrors maybe. Mine was supposed to have the stainless ones. I think someone switched them at some point.
