You're not kidding.

When I drove my 9500 Short Nose with the Fiberglass Tilt, it was like nothing to open it. But when I went to Salem, VA to check out the '72 Long Nose that I took pictures of that got posted on here, I sure got a surprise. Dang thing was heavy.

Here is a 71 GMC at auction in NE.
I think it has a 2 cycle Detroit in it. There is a video of it running in the listing.

It's ether a 6 or 8v92 Detroit. Wish I had a reason to throw money at it. And the money.

I bet it won't bring a lot.
The shipping would be a killer to MA!

Bekins Moving and Storage was big in the Los Angeles area. In later years, they had a lot of '73-'89 6500 series single axle gas tractors pulling vans around.

Wish it was a Conventional and wish it was closer.

I'm on the lookout for one.

Single Axle, Tandem Axle wouldn't matter. As long as it is Detroit powered with a Road Ranger.

Wow, you need an old Ryder car hauler! 3 different kinds of Detroits! Most with Road Rangers.

It's not closer, but one just like the one in your avatar showed up down the street from my shop this week. It's a clean old truck parked at a towing service out by the street for sale.

Order filled. 8V71 recently rebuilt. It had a dump bed and the frame has been stretched. The guy built the engine and passed away.

Looks very restore-able.

Thanks for the pictures.

But as you have mentioned, I wish it was closer, lol.

Someone in your area needs to jump on it.

Maybe we will see it restored someday on these boards.

Re: GM Semis

Same seller has two other GMC cabovers, these have Cummins power.
https://www.bigiron.com/Lots/1984GMC...TruckTractor-2
https://www.bigiron.com/Lots/1984GMC...TATruckTractor

I would guess these will bring a little more, farmers like old tractors to haul grain to market.
