Wow, that sucks! I've been down that road with CPP a few times so I know your frustration.

Re: 1960 Biscayne

At least CPP is trying to do something about it. They've been in continual contact. The problem is the mounting bracket/hub/rotor combination doesn't provide sufficient offset to install the brake caliper.

Meanwhile, I'm making progress on the interior. Headliner is in. Not as tight as I would like, but I'm going to let the ultra leather assume it's new shape and then try it again. Took a bit but not as bad as say, installing disk brakes.

All the seats are in.

I decided to try a console from a 67 Impala (I think) and it fits like a glove. I've gotten some SEM mixed to match the leather and will be painting it.

And it provides a great place to put the Air Ride display.

I'm going to replace the PRNDL plate for now with a solid plate covered in leather. Latter on the auto transmission shifter will be there.

This pic cracks me up. The interior on this is bigger than the living room in my first house.

Re: 1960 Biscayne

Well, got some good news finally on the brake issue. Turns out they finally figured out they sent me the wrong brackets, in spite of the fact they are the ones their kit calls for. I've been working with Jeff on this and I credit him with be persistent and seeing it through. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed this will do the trick.

You know what? I was so relieved we got it figured out, I didn't even ask. I've got other things on the list I can knock off this weekend so I won't be losing much time. I've done the brakes on this thing so many times now, I can do it blindfolded. When the brackets come it will be rolling in an hour.

I feel your pain, I've been having issues with my disk swap and after all of your stuff it got me motivated to get it sorted out so the new master is hanging in the shop with a fresh coat of paint drying. Hopefully that will take care of it! Thanks for the motivation.

As Laary the Cable Guy would say, Get er done! Funny to think at one time I thought I'd have this one by 4th of July. Now I'm sweating Oct 5.

The car currently has three on the tree, and that won't change until I do the engine swap. It'll have an auto then, and the console will be used for shifting then.

Re: 1960 Biscayne

More pics....

Here's the console as it looked before.

Worked it over this weekend so it would work better with the interior. I covered the console lid with a scrap of leather that was left over, and painted it with SEM Super White which tuned out to be an incredibly good match.

Replaced all the brake lines with Inline Tube stainless. It fit surprisingly well - at least surprising to me with my recent track record using products from different vendors - it hooked right up to the new power brake booster/master cylinder/proportioning valve sourced from POL (may they rot in hell).

I also finished up the headliner and got the trim re-installed. All that remains is to get the sun visors back up and that will finish up the interior. I'll finally get the disk brakes hooked up, then I'll put her up on the lift and torque everything down, install clips to make sure the air lines and the power cable are all snugged down, then off for an alignment. All this week? Ha! My original deadline was July 4th, then September 1. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks Jonathan. I've replaced interiors before, but this is the first time I've done anything other than stock. It's amazing what a difference it made.

I keep thinking about how I'll get to take all this stuff back out when the time comes to paint it. Everything goes easier the second time around though, right?

Thanks, I appreciate it. There's a place here in OKC that specializes in selling parts for pre-73 Chevy's (WESCO) and they part out cars too. I first noticed this console was sitting on the floor by their counter and didn't think a whole lot about it. A couple weeks later when I went back in it was still sitting there in the same spot and the wheels starting turning. So I bought it and tried it out. It could not fit any better as it follows the contours of the tranny hump perfectly. The car is six feet wide door sill to door sill and there was a huge gap between the seats. There's still a big gap, but this sure helps.
