Putting HID bulbs in an H4 housing is not the right way to upgrade your headlights

Re: Project "Irvin"

She's a beaut! Picked up my "new" '69 yesterday, truck bed full of new parts. Got a 200r-r4 transmission from a friend, 5.3 from a junk yard that was closing. Just need to sell '72 Super, she's ready to hit the road.

Thanks!! I'd love to have your super, but I'd be on death row if I bought it before this one is complete. Lol

You are doing a great job on the paint. Looks really wet and glossy.

For another ~$100 or so you could get projectors and do it right and be considerate of your fellow man while driving on the road

I've done several setups like this and passed my own wife with out complaint. I despise the look of projectors and will not use them. Thanks for info and glad all that you've seen I've done wrong is headlights.

I've never seen a slap together HID that didn't blind on passing, so those must not be very bright.

Honestly, I don't like the look of the projector either. I plan on lightly smoking the lenses on my HID swaps, except my 92 Firebird since no one ever sees the lamp really. I will paint the inside of the housing black, the shroud black and the smoked lens and no one will ever know and the smoke won't change the output enough to matter.

I like your build, otherwise I wouldn't have even said anything

Thank you, I'm really excited to get it complete. I primed the right hand inner bed side tonight and arranged to drop off wheel tubs for bed at the sand blaster tomorrow. Planning on priming the outter bedside tomorrow if time permits and a goal to paint one evening when I get home from work. Also found out they are doing a car show/ fundraiser for a little girl batteling cancer on Feb 8thand would like to take it together if I can get it complete.

Re: Project "Irvin"

I want to have mine ready for "Run to the Sun" at Myrtle Beach in March. I don't have as much to do as you do, but I'm dependent on others to get mine done. Hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait.
