Re: 1970 One Owner Short Step

The fuel filler turned out really well. So, is your wife's love evident in the fact you have 2 trucks, or because she's given you both spaces in the garage for them? Since its in the garage and not the shop, does that mean its done?

Haha both. I have the best wife ever. I have no need for two trucks but she has been patient enough for me to build both. And give up her space in the garage.

Seriously. I am one lucky guy. Here are a few pictures of the drivers door panel. Hopefully soon my seats will be done and installed.

Re: 1970 One Owner Short Step

I can't take much credit for these door panels. I just picked out the material and design. My upholstery guy did a great job executing my ideas. The last shot gets the door panel, rocker paint color, and door panel in one shot. The idea behind the carpet color is to blend with the paint color and disappear. I am trying to keep the main focus on the seats/door panels.

Hey Danny thanks for checking out the build. I got my fuel filler hose from a local shop that works on big equipment/hydraulics. they sold it by the foot, I think at about $10/15 per foot. The fuel door is off of a '04 Chevrolet 3/4 ton. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: 1970 One Owner Short Step

I haven't been able to update in a while because I have been way too busy. I survived this last month and now I am headed to California for a vacation. I took this picture at a Texas rest stop. We made it to amirillo and are eating at blue sky for lunch and then off to Cadillac ranch. Photos to come.

Re: 1970 One Owner Short Step

We made it to Cadillac ranch at about one, met some cool people and took some cool pictures. I met a guy that was traveling from California to Florida. It made my trip seem short.

Will do. We are headed to San Francisco and Yosemite. We should be in San Francisco in a day or two. Do you have any recommendations to spend a day in the area? I was thinking about going to one of the beaches but don't know which one to go to?

That's awesome. The wife and I try to do a little trip every year. She has several friends between Texas and California so we decided to go big this year. I can't imagine driving to Alaska!

Re: 1970 One Owner Short Step

We made it to Albuquerque and ate some good Mexican food. My wife's friend who lives here, lives not far from the friends dad...who owns a one owner 67 chevelle! Guess what we did after dinner?? It has 445xx miles on it and 95% original paint. It is a four door but still a really cool car.
