Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I bought a 4 wheeler today. 2022 Yamaha Kodiak 700. Never owned a 4 wheeler before. We have about 5 acres of open ground next to my shop and we are going to build some food plots.
Should be fun.

That brings up a question. Why is it car makers never put power steering coolers on passenger vehicles for decades until fairly recently? Do today's cars really heat up ps fluid enough to need a fluid cooler?

I thought I listed it high for a bronco with technically no VIN(PO cut out the vin on the swapped frame) at $9k but apparently not.

Most likely because they work the power brakes also

Like Stocker, I never leave anything combustible on top of the stove or any heaters. The kitchen stove. Better safe than sorry.
Reminds me of the flood in 96, We were saving a condo downtown from water so we pulled the new carpet and set the roll on the counters. Well yes the stove turned on and although we saved the condo the new carpet had to be replaced again.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Just bumming around all weekend. It was snowing and blowing yesterday and been cold. I couldn't shift gears to some small projects inside. Good way to get fat. Brownies yesterday and truffles tonight.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

we had the same snow and wind yesterday, I did get a good amount of work done on my 71 yesterday, today was just off, still windy and cold but clear skies, nobody was out, I guess the weather and time change maybe!..i worked on some lawn equipment, went and got a battery for my lawn tractor, and some supplies from the hardware store to fix a table, nothing exciting..dreading the thought of getting up early to go to work tomorrow!

30* windy and snow friday. Sun and 40 saturday. 60 and sunshine all day today. My daughter came in late from south Louisiana with 3 dogs in friday's snow. What a change of weather for her. House full here. They left today.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Working on a wood chest. Got tired of switching the grits of sandpaper on the worn out sanding block and made 5 new sanding blocks. Put on a coat of mystery varnish. Also made a "tool" so that I can put the sandpaper into it and tear off the right size- 1/3 sheet. No pics, the finish isn't finished.

Just in time for summer.

I shouldn't laugh. I did the same thing a couple days ago. I'm good on firewood until next year. It's already warming up here (73 degrees today)and some trees are starting to bloom. It's still cold at night. But it's not as cold. My firewood should last and it has time to really dry out. Older wood is the best. At least that's what I tell my wife.

I always cut early so it has time to season before burning. Actually I'm usually a couple years or so ahead.

I would think it would depend on it being a hardwood or a softwood?

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Did my last batch of maple syrup yesterday . Replaced the PS cooler on the envoy while was u der the truck neighbor came by asked if I would be willing to take down some dead ash on the property line and his field . None have any dangers around them so should be easy to drop . About 15 mature trees so maybe 10 cord of usable wood . Also I'll be dropping a large cherry as it's pretty busted up from an ash that fell on it

First thing in the morning I called and was on hold for almost 20 minutes, gave up and tried their website and did a title status check. It shows my title was printed Dec 9th, so where is it? Today I went to the local office and showed them what I found. She called the state office and was also on hold for over 10 minutes, finally someone answered and she said my new title had been returned undeliverable. Great! I have been having mail delivery issues for a good while now. That's a whole other problem with the postal service.
The state will not mail the title again by certified or other. I have to go there to pick it up personally.
I drove down to the state DMV yesterday to retrieve my 91 title the post office returned, in the rain, expecting a long line and a 2 hour wait. I walked in and sure enough there must have been 50 people in line. But I looked around and across the room I saw a window sign Suspense. That's where my title is supposed to be and there was no line. I stepped right up and presented my license and registration and she handed the title over. Took all of 5 minutes. I shouldn't have had to go get it but they would not mail it again and I cannot really trust the post office again to deliver it. So while we were down there we just had to stop at Cracker Barrel. So the day wasn't all bad.
