Cool Feeling like a newbie again.

I don't see a lot that I know or remember then again 10 years is a long time. When I got here there wasn't a forum per say. A few pics and a message board.
There was no Facebook, My space, now there is all that crap to go up against. Hope that I can share my knowledge with others and maybe I can get some more. I did not sell my truck, it hasn't really changed much (383 stroker) different tires but still looks ok. Tomorrow I am planning on getting it out, washing and going to a cruise in to benefit an old friend. She is getting out for the first time in 10 years. End of rant.

Re: Feeling like a newbie again.

Your gorgeous stepside 4x4 hasn't been out in 10 years? (Welcome Back!)

Wow.

My truck has been through some changes.

You probably remember it like this:

12 years outside in the carolina sun has ruined the paint, so I made a few changes...

Would love to see some new pics of yours!

Hey Mudder, I'm still here and still building trucks. I keep telling my wife that I'm getting to old for this stuff. She just smiles and says YEAH, RIGHT...

Good to see you posting again & the truck coming back out.

Re: Feeling like a newbie again.

I bought a 68 cab that is sooooo nice about 5 years ago and have never done nothing with it. I would like to get something going. A 3/4 4x4 short fleet sounds really good. I got the cab from fine69 and he ended up with my cowl hood. I liked the original any ways.

Re: Feeling like a newbie again.

Got the truck all ready to go yesterday. Looked really nice and hour later a cold front when by and it rained the rest of the day. Went to parts store and got stuff to finish some electrical projects I started 10 years ago.

Re: Feeling like a newbie again.

Welcome back, Mudder. Looking at that picture shows me you were trained well in fire fighting.

10 years... really??? I hadn't seen any posts from you but didn't realize that much time had passed since.

Re: Feeling like a newbie again.

The picture reminds me of a song, Get up to get down get funky. That's what you did. Washed her up to get funky

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...4RL3CgEJXhb0Go

Just messing with you. That's what we do here with all the newbies

I guess this song would be more proper, though:

Give me a few days...…………. months. I am forgetting how to do things here. I also have about 2 or 3 months of fire to finish up with.

Re: Feeling like a newbie again.

My old truck (Lefty) sat for 9 years. Last summer my nephew bought it and he's loving it. Getting it back on the road wasn't hard. Too bad he took off the 275/50-15 BFG's and went with some no-name 235/75-15's. Before I handed it over I used it to haul everything for a 14x9 deck, in one trip. God, I want that truck back!

Re: Feeling like a newbie again.

Don't feel too bad, My dad's firebird was brought to my house in 2010. I managed to strip it down and buy a lot of nice parts for it. Realized I won't have the time I would need to devote to a total resto for another 20 years, so I bought a completely rust free original 68 firebird.

My dad want's to try to tackle it again, so he's picking it up in November. The last time it ran and I went for a ride in it was 1989, I was 8. Still remember it. Driving the 68 was the first time I'd ever actually driven a first gen.
