Let's play "what is it?" -- calling LockDoc

Do these look familiar to anyone (you in particular, LockDoc)? I was thinking that they might be the guts of latch mechanisms - what's odd is that there are very few duplicate designs. Most are brass.

This box came from a hardware store auction. The business opened in 1905 and was owned by three generations that squirreled away anything and everything.

What do you think?

Googled antique lock mechanisms....lots of innards that look similar to what you have

Some appear to be safe and safe deposit box lock parts. The "Y" shaped ones are for door latches. That is some old stuff.....
