Deluxe knobs-Trim level?

Was wounding what dictated getting deluxe knobs I've seen them in base models and even c50s. I am working on changing mine over to deluxe knobs. And had me thinking. I got the radio knobs from a 70 gmc c2500 custom and the wiper from a 72 chevy highlander. No headlight knob in either.

Re: Deluxe knobs-Trim level?

Mid-level trim to top level. Or everything but the base trim truck. If the truck got chrome window trim and fancy door panels it got the fancy knobs. So in GMCs the Custom, Super Custom, Sierra, and Sierra Grande. In Chevy the Custom, CST, Custom Deluxe, Cheyenne, and Cheyenne Super

That's simple enough. Sound like that standard knobs could be more rare. Not valuable because no one wants them.

Re: Deluxe knobs-Trim level?

Might be about the same amount. The largest portion of trucks sold were base trim. You could have a trimmed out base trim truck and not pay for what you didn't want. Like side trim, chrome bumper and hubcaps. That was common, even deluxe two-tones. And all those had plain knobs, no window trim, and metal door panels. I think it's all pretty neat how they could be ordered.
