Hello from IN 1972 C-10

Have been visiting here often over the last several months trying to read and learn.

Just joined to start planning for some work on a 72 C10 non air truck for my son. Will eventually be a daily semi-daily driver for him when he moves to Austin.

I live in Dallas, my son lives in NYC and my dad in Indiana. Will be a Grandfather, Dad (me) and Grandson (my son) project. Truck is in IN with my dad and my son and I will fly in for long weekends and vacation time (I get quite a bit) to help with the build.

Only pictures I have on hand. Thank you all in advance for sharing your knowledge and "lessons learned" with those of us digging into a project like this.

Brad
Dallas, TX

Re: Hello from IN 1972 C-10

Thank you all. Dads work shop give us tons of room, lift and wood heat for winter. He has most of the stuff we will need. Torches, welder, tools, parts washer, etc. Going to buy him a sandblaster here in the next few months for us to have on hand.

Should be a fun/interesting project as we dive in, so much to learn and good challenges ahead.

79 Z on the lift (383 Stroker/Dart Heads/Balanced). Another car I bought here in TX for him years ago. Same story probably ran back in 2010 or so... with a different motor.
68 Convertible 327/Powerglide
76 Vette

Thanks for the warm welcome. Amazed at how willing groups like you all are to help with a "community" build like this. Will start a thread once we get rolling.

That looks like a fun project. My family (Dad / Dad side of family) is from Indianapolis and before that Hope, In - then they ended up in Garland (more or less Dallas). Though they are rolling over in their graves for me getting a Chevy (my aunt gives me hell all the time).

Anyways, welcome to the forums and hope to run into your son - I am in the Austin area myself now.

Flipped your photos and a crop for you as a Welcome Gift :-)
