2014-18 4.3l V6 swap questions

I’m thinking about dropping in a 4.3/6l80 combo in my 65 GMC Suburban( it has V6 badges!) I am wondering if anyone has experience with this swap and also if they would go in like an LS or LT motor.

Thanks guys!

I have looked into this, and it is the same as the 5.3 V8. Except you will have to fab your own engine stands due to offset of the motor mounts.

They have prebuilt harnesses which is what I would do, and if you have power steering. You need to get the kit to use a PS pump.

I have the V6 in my 18 Silverado, and it is a amazing little motor. Tows 7500 pounds like nothing, and can get 26 mpg highway. The Silverado has 32" tires, and 3.23 gears. I think 3.73's would be more ideal for more umph off the line with out loss of mpg on the highway. Atleast with my tire size, and what it will get at tire time. I have ran the truck in 5th, and 6th gear with out DOD on. The mpg was the same at 25.

I want to use a 4.3 in a 73 C10 rcsb, and supercharge it for a eco boost style build

The old 4.3’s would bolt up to a SBC motor mount/perches, so these are different now?

It's the position of the mounts cast into the block with relation to the rear of the block. Like the earlier 4.3 you have to move the frame stands back.

The engine is something like 4.75 inches shorter, and the mounts are close to the same position in relation to the front of the block. For accessories.

Or atleast what I can see from the hood of both trucks I could check out.
