I know what you mean AJ - I learned a LOT from my 71 junker Cheyenne Super. It was a cool, unique truck I also wish I'd held onto.

Re: Cheyenne Super Qusetion.

Greg, sorry, not sure if I helped or hijacked The answer to your question is YES, highest trim level in early 71 was a CST/Cheyenne (Z84).

Re: Cheyenne Super Qusetion.

This is how the glove box emblem looks on my 71 Super. The truck is a 71 by the VIN but it got some 72 specific details like the doors/door panels. It is missing the SPID so I can´t tell for sure if it even is a real Super.

Here is another thread on the same subject: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=643383

Doesn't surprise me, the previous versions were probably used up already. Dollars to donuts there's a 72 out there with the old emblem.

Re: Cheyenne Super Qusetion.

I'm a fool for old dealer literature, and this is one of my favorites. This shows that the Super production begins in April of 1971.
