Refurbed the dash for my daughters 68 truck today.
Took it a part and cleaned it and painted the iside Chrome spray paint. Installed new LED bulbs. I used pipe wrap and put inside for the lens cushions and also to block out the light from bleeding through. I used black tape around the steering column area to stop it from shinning through there as well.
They also dim down.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Tanks in, put in the driver's side shoulder belt, found some rust under the carpet I need to look and paint.

Gonna try to button it all up tomorrow.

Thanks we got the cab off the LWB frame also and have the short frame sitting in the waiting area. We started blasting some small parts for it after I fixed the blaster cabinet.

May sound crazy to some but I skipped opening weekend of modern gun deer season to get the rear frame section rust encapsulated and painted. Not sure she I’d see another two days in a row of 65-70 degree weather.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Nothing as exciting as many of yours, but I did get some general stuff done that I wanted since I bought the truck.
Changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
Converted points to Petronix Ignitor III. Did my best to keep factory look and thanks to advice here, kept the factory wiring (just wrapped it all up) in case I want to go back to original. Put the all the parts in a box and leave them in the truck.

Also, thanks to great advice from this board I changed my glass fuel filter to a metal one.

Wiped down the smooth exhaust manifolds with some solvent, blew dry with air and got a couple coats of high temperature cast iron paint.

I switched from my summer wheels and tires to my "snow" wheels and tires today. I don't store the old girl for the winter but drive it whenever it's decent outside

I did some painting of small parts and I did some grille work on the 68. I think it's going to be fine once I clean it up and sand it down and primer it. The ramp truck makes a nice work area to by the way.
Oh I fixed my neighbor's tail lights for him on his 94 truck. He had no tail lights when he showed up. When he left he had all his lights working.

I had to work on the spot light on the ramp truck to it wouldn't come on. Had to take it a part and clean the contacts inside the light fixture and inside the handle. I also sprayed it down with lithium grease to make it move better.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Installed wiring harness today in hopes of test firing my engine. Also I temporarily installed the cab and front clip to ascertain where my computer, airbox, and battery will eventually go. I’m not sure if I want more of a factory look or a custom look under the hood.

Man, it feels good to look at something that resembles truck instead of only pieces of a truck!

This week I wet sand and buffed the truck. Yesterday I painted the seat cover for now. I struggled with a color to eventually do my seat. I think black leather would be fine.
