Project "Heavy Hitter" '67 Bowtie

Here's my latest project to start. its an original '67 chevy c10, has a 283 w/ an oil based air filter and 2bbl car mated to a 3 speed manunal trans. the ONLY mod to the truck is long tube headers lol. well out w/ the old in w/ the new. the truck is in the making of becoming a ''street king'' the power plant will consist of a BBC mated to a built TH350 trans w/ a 3500 BTE stall.



the step side bed is coming off and being replaced by this fleet side





i'm keeping the 6 lugs on it and gettin some staggered 15" wheels 15x6 15x10

all suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated

Sweet,I've wondered what comes through the hole between the gas pedal and steering column-clutch rod? Funny; I had a '72 4x4 with a shtick and don't recall.

i got them from http://www.speedwaymotorsports.com they're in the sprint car section and i paid $10 a piece a lil of $30 for both w/ shipping included

I like the look, I (you too) might have to run more than one in a line to tone it down to street level. I like the price! Are they 3 inch?

yes sir they surely are. and lol yea i think i'm gonna order another set depending on how loud they are. i've heard similar on sprint cars and they dont seem that loud but i'm quite sure a 502 will be alot more vocal

i'm currently tryin to decide if i wanna stick w/ the stock 8.75:1 compression and keep the cast iron heads, or go w/ some aluminum and bump it up to around 11:1 that's my main debate right now.

I would definitely bump the compression, if you have the funds to get a new set of heads. What are your plans for the suspension?

that is still up for grabs. i'm rather new to the style of suspension that comes with these trucks. i'm used to being able to buy some drag springs, shocks, and traction bars and launching so i'm really in for a lesson w/ this truck

will most def do so. guys have been telling me to 4 link it but that pretty much kills my chances of making money on the street. so i'm tryin to do as much stock suspension mods as possible. so far i've been told to go w/ coil overs and a good sticky tire and it should hook up if not then to add adjustable trailing arms. so i'm gonna give that a try first if it don't bite then, i'll try some adjustable shocks up from(90/10) to better the weight transfer before i do the trailing arm mods. but i've heard that these trucks hook pretty damn good w/ just stock suspension and good springs

Has a race "muffler" on the dirt track car, it's the louder one. Used a circle track muffler as well

started removing the bad news today

got the bed off as well, kinda amazing what a rattle can of black paint can do for an old rusted frame. thinking about spraying it down w/ bed liner next week


and the 42yrs of damage we found under the wooden floor bed
